I'm pretty sure we're going with the big 3...hot dogs, hamburgers and bratwurst. For sides we'll have cole slaw, waldorf salad and french fries.
I haven't decided yet on whipping up a homemade sauce of some kind...think I may just go with dijon mustard and chopped vidalia onions instead. |

sky blue potatoes
24 new red potatoes, half lengthwise 2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil 1 1/2 cups sour cream 1 cup crumbled blue cheese 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon, plus more for garnish 1/2 cup chopped flat leaf parsley, plus more for garnish 1/4 red onion finely chopped 1. preheat oven to 400. in a med bowl toss the potatoes with olive oil. place cut side down on baking sheet until the skins are crisp, 20 to 25 minutes, let cool. 2. scoop out the center of the potatoes, and place in a medium bowl. stir in the sour cream, blue cheese, bacon, parsley and onion. fill each potato skin with the sour cream mixture and top with more crumbled bacon and parsley. also, i'm making this; roasted red pepper toasts puree 4 roasted red peppers with 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 cup toasted pine nuts, and 1/4 cup grated parmesan. spread on toasted baguette slices and garnish with coursley grated parmesan. |
