I guess this is as much distance between my post and Constantine's left nipple as I'm gonna get.

I was over in the Archie hate thread to see what people were still hating on. I don't think I recall posting any Archie hatred per se, but I know I called him RchuD2 and probably posted some Papaporkchop hate. Like Simon, I was wrong.

In the beginning I felt Archie was getting overpraised at the expense of others who had performed better. Plus his musical style isn't my thing, even if his voice is beautiful. And his fans were ridiculous (Not at Sucks. Well, most of you Sucks Archtards are lots of fun and not annoying.) It made me angry because it seemed unfair. I also thought he was the musical equivalent of a pageant bot. Pimped since birth to exploit his singing, even if it wasn't what he wanted to do. Once the stuff started coming out about his father my anger shifted and I began to feel sorry for him. Then I saw some videos of him and Cook together and I began to understand Archie.

I've seen Archie in a few post season interviews and I have a completely different view of him. He is not robotic at all. Immature and awkward socially? Yup. But now it's endearing. He has been utterly professional, genuine and goofy since the finale, and passionate about his music. And he is very humble and self-deprecating, which I didn't expect. Maybe it's because I am seeing him somewhat through Cook's eyes. The brotherly relationship the two have seems real and heartfelt. This has to be the nicest, most genuine and talented final 2 AI has ever seen and will likely ever see.

I really don't think Archie could have handled being the winner yet, and I do think he has a great future ahead. However he has handled his loss with complete class and maturity. And Cook has almost handled his win as though they were co-winners. Their mutual respect and brotherly friendship is very nice to see.

So I now get what you Archtards were all about in your fandom. I need to say, though, that I still am a little offended by some of the more sexual comments about him in here. That part of Archie fandom I don't get at all.

I'm glad we pretty much got along through this! Smooches Archtards!
