I thought it was an enormous honor, for a fourth place finisher to get a solo number. Good for Jason!

i'm not sure if this has been posted here, i'll share it anyway
jason almost got caught on fire from: http://tvwatch.people.com/2008/05/22...you-didnt-see/ On May 6 Jason Castro stumbled on the words to Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man." The next day he was eliminated from the competition. On Wednesday night's finale, Castro and his fellow season seven finalists had the luxury of having a giant teleprompter situated in the center of the orchestra seats scroll the lyrics to every song. Castro's heartfelt rendition of "Hallelujah" went off without a hitch. It was a calm moment for Castro, who had the you-know-what scared out of him earlier, when the pyrotechnics went off after the show's opening number. Castro jumped as flames briefly shot up on the stage right behind him. He lost his footing in the final dance moves, but got back into place just in time before the show went to commercial. |

I noticed that! He started kind of running around and then it looked like David Hernandez hit at him and seemed to tell him to get back into the ending pose.
Poor Jason. haha
I loved all of his "dancing" last night. Too damn cute. |

American Idol: Jason Castro sings tonight, then braces for homecoming5:10 PM Wed, May 21, 2008 | PermalinkTommy Cummings • neighborsgo TV blog | Jason Castro Central For Jason Castro fans, he's back. Back on American Idol. Not to compete with finalists David Archuleta or David Cook. Idol producers dispatched Jason back to the show to perform "Hallelujah." It's the start of a big week for Jason, who'll be treated to a big homecoming in his hometown on May 29. The city is planning a parade, regatta and a Jason Castro Day proclamation. The city is expected to finalize the details Thursday afternoon. Tentatively set is a 5:30 p.m. parade starting at the top of Ridge Road and Summer Lee (on the Kroger side). At The Harbor, Jason and his family will arrive by yacht, then he'll perform at the city's amphiteater. Watch neighborsgo.com for additional details. In the meantime, Archuleta and Cook will be decided the American Idol for the show's eighth season. Tuesday's performance show was formatted like a boxing match with the two Davids in boxing trunks at the beginning as Michael Buffer making the booming "Let's get ready to rumble!" announcement. The ringside judges -- Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson -- strongly favored Archuleta. But when you put the voting in the public's hands ... there's no telling. |

You guys thought that was good? Seriously? He wasn't in time with the orchestra EVER through the whole song
- he was always way behind or way ahead of the music. It was cringe-inducing!
