Oh this is more pointless than debating whether Chicken or Jolanda were M or N in their boot episodes.

FINALE
ToneWatchdog call: I just rewatched the finale and can't find anything overtly Negative in the editing for Amanda. She got a little reamed by the jury, but that really happened. As much as I am not a fan of hers, I don't really see an M here in the 2-hour show and would have almost said neutral: (mild) P I think that means... flf, please. |

I'm beginning to think some people are just suckers for women's t.ears. Ami cries at TC during her boot episode, Amanda has a meltdown voting off
Cirie, they get sypathey Ps. It's traditionally appropriate feminine behaviour.

TLS, my biggest memory of Ami was her marvelously threatening lorena bobbit adventure with the machete and Erik. It was an excrutiatingly funny (at least, I
bet, for the guys watching!) moment. No frigging way would I give her a P overall - it was probably her biggest single strategy moment in the whole show. If
you wanna go M, cool. But P?
Also, I'm just basing my comments on my basic gut reactions to remembering the characters. I know it isn't really edgic to do that .... Hey! None of this is edgic!!!... but just how I remembered them . It's not a matter of confessional counts or the fact that Eliza was .035 aggregate median percentage greater in the first quarter of the middle quintile of shows than Parvati when conducting an n-dimensional factor analysis. Just gut reaction to them in the season. Chet - whiner. Yao - was he on the show? Jonathan - heroic strategizer who loves the game. Eliza - plucky smart worrier. Amanda - MOR chick who can't finish. Again. The only one I'm willing to change on is Parv to N. I talked with hubbie and he looked at me with an are-you-daft expression. "The bitch had game" was his response. Good point, but how you place "bitchiness" into the n-dimensional matrix is a tough one. |

Craig,
It also happens to be the edit they received. |

I think so people put a little too much focus on the machete scene for Ami. It's not like the editors really made a big deal out of it. Ami just happened
to be holding a machete during that scene. It would've been shown if she was holding a stick, too.

GretchenIsMyGod wrote: I'm so confused and scared! Basically it came down to final impressions--Ami left on a much more sympathetic note. Eliza, as much as I love her, was painted as the annoying one for her boot episode and a couple of episodes prior to it as well. Besides, Ami was so UTR this season that the episodes where she barely registered at all kind of fall out of the equation. I think impressions of the intent outweigh averages. It's kind of like Bruce in Panama--going by the first 10 episodes, I'd have given him a neutral (or mixed, if it existed then) tone rating for the end of the season. But he had a pretty positive send-off, and that's what I think most viewers would remember him by. |

It was the frigging machete, and her comments to Erik oozed controlling smugness. It was great. Besides, this ain't edgic. 'Twas I that is making a big deal about it. It was a truly awesome scary N scene. the fact that it wouldn't have been as threatening if she was nudging him with a stuffed koala toy sort of proves my point - it was a long, sharp knife. |

cantthinkofaname, yes, the data we have hints at who should be what, however, everyone is going to rate based on their own charts. Someone may think that Person X was P most episode, and Person Y they may have felt was mixed or more neutral, even if Person Y was a lot more P in the broad, general edgic votes. They're most likely, and should, vote based on what they thought. Everyone is going to rate people based on what they think, not on what edgic thought. We can't get angry at people for not voting based on the statistics; those are general numbers, not individual numbers. Also, someone can be P most episode but then have two fairly negative episodes, and people will take that as a Mixed. It all depends on the impact of each episode, how visible they were (highly visible with tone will lead to more weight on that tone than say tone with a 1 or 2 visibility). This goes to everyone; let's not get angry and fight over overall ratings, this is where people are going to, and should, vote based on what they felt. This is the off season! Let's enjoy. Thanks! =) |

Hey Blake, I edited it in my post, but I changed Chet to UTRN (from MORN). Thanks.

Good work. All the majority ratings seem reasonable even if some differ from my own.
Except I can't believe only 4/18 gave Joel OTTN. He went out OTTN, and should have been the OTTN ep.2. He spoke to people in an OTT way and his strategizing was OTT ridiculous. Jason's edit was subdued in compasison. |

Just got back to civilization. Well, cell phones and the internet anyway. Much fishing with Warrior on his boat. Fun! And the most relaxed I've been in
ages.
I've gotta catch up on the posts from the last two weeks. I'm back refreshed and pumped for the fall season (insert obligatory exclamation mark, here.) Get home tomorrow eve. |
