The fact they felt the need to cram everything in and leave such little time for the two people who were actually competing was the true joke. Archuleta and
Cook both should have gotten to perform by themselves before they revealed the winner. It's not about random celebrities, it was their night, and they were
barely on the show at all.

Uh, they had an entire HOUR the night before to perform.

I was entranced by Carrie's and even bought it, but I went to get a drink during GM's because I was so bored. Why'd they save him for last? Last
Name should have been last!

Uh, they had an entire HOUR the night before to perform. It was completely disjointed to jump from George Michael to the result. They both should have gotten a chance to sing one song before they revealed the winner. Those are usually the most epic performances on the big night. They oversaturated the finale with movie plugs and celeb appearances. It was awful. It should be one duet a piece for the top 5, and a performance from last year's winner. That's it |

Ummm, Carrie killed this song, George? Not so much...maybe it was his "cold"?

That's one of the best songs ever. I love it whether it's being sung by the "biggest star in the world", or a sleazy little farmbot.

Listening to both, obviously George wins.

Was never a huge GM fan, but I thought his was the most powerful performance of the night. Time has worn him down ... he sang with such feeling. Nice
respite from all the fake smiley cheesiness.

Wrong song for the show. He should hae sung 'Dont let the sun do go on me' and then followed it up with 'the
first time ever I saw your face'
Yup, George should have sung a song that both David's had Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me - George Michael & Elton John http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tpKBOMdMxo First time ever I saw your face . . . |

Maybe it was the Chardonnay, but GM's performance made me cry. It brought back all of the terrible things society went through in the 80's - AIDS,
homelessness, and the song is still relevant today. It made me dust off my old Listen Without Prejudice to give it a listen.
On another note, why did they turn off the lights when he was singing? Was it to hide the fact that he now looks like Charles Nelson Reilly in a wig? |

He did look odd that's for sure.... I couldn't place what was different so I stopped trying and just listened to the song. It was beautiful and his
voice was drenched in the sadness that the song requires to be fully effective. Perhaps it is all his hard years and time really has worn him down so the song
has more significance to him now.
Carrie did a good job with the song...no one said she didn't so the carrietards can simmer down. But for me, Carrie lacks an emotional connection to almost every song she sings because she seems to always be preening for the camera. |

He has no produce singles in six years. That's why I hate him and he is gay. I like the Wham look back in the 80s. Maybe Luke Menard should a duet with him
on a stage.

Is the song he sang a song for homosexuals? Why is Paula crying? Claude, can you answer me?

Another HIT for the oldy parade last night.. the oldsters kicked those kids firmly in the ass with actual talent that despite, drugs, gay bathhouse/public
toilet sex, arrests, varying other problems with booze, mental health and even ZZ tops obvious grooming issues. . proved once again TALENT triumphs.
GM has come out of the "closet" of whatever he was in this last year with his hillarious cameo on Extras mocking himself, the show on ABC and now this.. he was amazing... although he is starting to +#*!* into what all old Greek men look like.. even yes those glasses.. just check out your oldy greek contingent at some greek joint and you will know what I am talking about.. but man I LOVED the song.. and shit I am going to his concert!!! I went to Justin Timberlake in a disguise and with shame.. this I will bring out the gaytendants for a gay ole time... I just won't let them use the toilets. |
