Finally a winner to be happy about and who will make a show like this proud! Simon was elated and you could tell by his backpedalling that he knew how it would come out. Had it been close, it could have gone both ways. With the 12 point difference, it was probably clear to the judges that Cook won. Credibility restored to AI. Simon and Nigel are ecstatic!

All the guy sang was ballads and more ballads. And while his voice sounded amazing last night, it wasn't anything new. In contrast, David Cook did all these fun numbers and everyone enjoys hearing him. I'm really concerned though that if they were willing to throw Cook under the bus like they did and Randy mentioned "sympathy votes and Simeon how them over praising one helped the other" that they aren't going to promote Cook like they could.. And that freakin bothers me... And I'm glad they didn't say it was a "close vote" because it wasn't. I think the thing is that those judges didn't take into account things like Itune sales etc... Cook is more radio friendly. He was totally classy winner, and he was so sweet to Archuleta.
