Watching the marathon pissed me off for one reason. The robbery of Ricky Palomino. That was just ridiculous. Jesus was robbed too. Damn Neil. There are rumours that Dan Karaty won't be back this season and that delights me to no end. He's the worst judge and he can't even dance that well himself. He still stuck in 1999. I only hope this brings the return of Brian Friedman. I missed his crazy hair and wacky jewelry last season. |

I thought Lacey had some good routines with her partners, and was able to play to the cameras well. However, her solos were weak, but I can understand that.
She did swing and Latin, which are geared more towards having partners.

However, I also think that Sabra was meant to be cannon fodder. We knew NOTHING about her...even in the Final 20 episode. I remember watching and going "Who's the white girl with the fro? She's toast!" And it took a while for people to warm up to her. I think that being paired with Dominic helped her A LOT because it sort of gave her a personality by association. The real travesty last season was Cedric. He should not have ever made the top 20. He should not have outlasted Ricky. He should not have outlasted Jimmy. He should not have dragged Faina down and gotten her eliminated. He should not have outlasted Jesus. It was just plain awful! Normally, I really respect the job the judges do on this show, but that was an instance where they got it all wrong. Sanjaya >>>>>>>>>> Cedric! |

I loved Sabra, she was just this beautiful delicate powerhouse and I'm glad she got Dominic b/c Drew you are right b/c of him she got face play is right
and I'm forever grateful :-)
Lacey - I know she had some big time fans, never liked her. Thought she was a really good dancer but her mugging for the camera got worse and worse that all I could see was her face at the camera. Danny - :sigh |

He was funny, so she was by association. They had amazing chemistry and did always look like they were having fun. And him always dropping her added a story to them. I don't know if she would've had that same spark with Ricky. Though, if they had done a contemporary piece week 2 (like Sabra and Dom did), it probably would've been amazing. |

Faina wasn't long to last anyway. The only way she would've survived is not being in the bottom 3. Nigel gives the same reason for getting rid of certain dancers. Stanislav, Faina, and Anya were all eliminated because they're better with partners than with solos. Cedric just got damn lucky that hip hop was his first week. Even though he was in the bottom 3, he wasn't a much as a hindrance as he would've been in another dancing category. Nigel said he was staying the first week since he didn't bring his partner down, as we expected. Ricky was cute too. He should've stayed. But based on HER dancing, she shouldn't have been bottom three that week. She was awesome. It wasn't her fault that her partner was the least competent one there. The judges should have recognized that and given her a pass for that week. For what it's worth, I thought Cedric sucked in the week-one hip hop, too. He's not good at anything to do with a partner or choreography. Free-styling is the only thing he did well... |

Don't get me wrong, Drew, I totally agree. On the original airing, I caught the last bit of the last audition (with Myles) and then some of Vegas. I
loved Faina when I saw her last solo. She was amazing. I loved her brother too. They were both screwed over.

During the auditions segment of the season I think it only airs on Thursdays. It's been confirmed that they'll do the dance show on Wed and the results on Thurs when it gets into the Top 20, just like last year.Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Surely, they weren't going to have the show on Thursday and then the results on Friday.. that makes much more sense. Countdown til Cat!!!!!..... 4 more days to go! |

For what it's worth, I thought Cedric sucked in the week-one hip hop, too. He's not good at anything to do with a partner or choreography. Nigel, I think, only said that to justify keeping him (he said he was worried he would let his partner down, but he didn't). When he actually eliminated Faina, he said "we don't know if you're partner let you down last week", which is quite different. Then Mary, my favorite judge, said on several occasion that Cedric sucked at his hip hop routine. On week 4, when she lied about finally liking Cedric, she said he was not good during the first week. On an interview she did after Faina's elimination, she said that she felt Cedric should have gone this week since they already gave him one more chance with his dissapoiting preformance in hip hop last week, and two chances is too much. Also, upon watching the top 20 preformance night again, the judges never actually comment on Cedric's actualy preformance, they just say he is incredible in his own style (which makes me think they cut out the comments concerning the actual dance he just did). Another thing is that they probably later learned that Cedric did not help Faina during rehearsals because he was having too much trouble on his own. People keep saying that Faina dragged Cedric into the B3 the first week, but she really didn't since he sucked too, so it was a group effort. He, on the other hand, did let her down the second week. I was just really disapointed that my favorite dancer during auditions, who showed so much talent and promise, was gone so early. Plus, I thought the judges were too hard on her, considering I thought Jaimie looked way more awkward doing hip hop than Faina, and they fawned over her. And yeah, I have no idea why the judges pretended Sabra was amazing during the finale, because while she had been great before, she was so bad that night. Her solo, her cha cha, her hip hop. Just terrible. |

^ The judges were too hard on Faina. She had terrible luck being paired with Cedric, and her Week 1 hip-hop really wasn't bad at all, especially for it to be so far outside of her style. By the finale I think most of the votes are already locked in - I actually think the Top 6 has more effect on final votes than the finale night, honestly (proof: Danny and Neil did the "Are You The One" Mia Michaels piece for the finale; it was arguably the most popular dance last season, yet neither participants in it won). The judges overly pimped Sabra despite her weak finale performance because they knew she had the potential to win and they really wanted a female winner. And I'm not really bothered that they did so, because I consider the finale more of a retread/ icing on the top, and it's more of the whole season as an entirety that I think of when voting. |

Australian SYTYCD used the Rihanna song Don't stop the music as their final group piece for all 20 PLUS the judges and choreographers dancing. It was tres
cool, would love to see the US or Canadian version include the choreographers and maybe judges in a group performance. Nigel's wife Bonnie maybe an older
woman but she can still move, wonder if he can?
The song is definitely an 'anthem' for anyone who loves to dance. |

It's been used so many times in so many dance shows that I'm kinda growing weary of it.� But I do admit that Matt Lee managed to choreo a good group dance for 30 dancers with a decent remix. |
