With summer just around the corner, I thought it was the appropriate time to write a new fanfic. I've been working on this for the past couple months, and I decided to hold back on posting until I had a few episodes completed, to give me a little room in case I get behind. I've had a problem with that in the past, but I think I have found the solution. J

To anyone not familiar with this "second chance" concept, it's basically an idea to bring back contestants from previous seasons of Survivor, who didn't go very far (voted off before the jury started). A Second Chance season has never been done on the show, and I thought it'd be a neat idea to bring back some of the early boots. Plus, it looks like some other people feel the same way. These are people from only the pre-jury, from seasons 9-16 (Vanuatu-Micronesia). I considered including contestants from earlier seasons, but ultimately decided that I had a good cast with just some from the recent seasons. Sorry to disappoint anyone looking forward to seeing those like Gretchen, Maralyn, Skupin, Gina, Andrew, etc. But I think you'll be happy with the cast I have chosen. Note I have not named them yet. I will do so shortly.

For anyone familiar with fanfics written by guatemala fanfic, mine could be considered similar, but I wouldn't say it's identical. Mine shares a similar style in that this isn't a narrative; it's basically a version of the TV show, written like a script.

I'd love to have as many readers as possible, so if you have the time, please consider reading my story and taking part in the surveys that follow. I'll also be running a popularity poll this season, so the more responses I get for that, the better results I get. Even if you don't like filling out the entire survey, I'd really appreciate some ratings for the contestants.

The premier date is set for Sunday, June 1^st sometime in the evening (maybe morning, I haven't decided yet). Prior to that, I'll be posting some interviews and such leading up to that day. Also, starting this Saturday, I will open the popularity poll so you can rate the cast. I hope to have enough numbers to put in so I can gather a pre-show tally.

I have already posted an Early Show interview with Jeff Probst and Julie Chen, giving some info on this season. Tomorrow (Thursday), I will post another interview which will release the names of the contestants. Followed by that, on Friday, I will post a Probst's Thoughts segment, which will give you some perspective on what to expect from the survivors.

I'm very excited to get this rolling, and hope that I can get some loyal readers during this summer. I have the season already mapped out, with a few episodes in completion, and I'm very happy with the end result. I hope you like what you see!

I wanted to keep this simple, with 16 people and a 2-person jury (also for the reason given in the interview). It seems like that format has turned out to be more successful in the past.

I hope the wait for the first episode isn't too long. With a series of pre-show events, I didn't want to go 1-2-3-PREMIERE all in four days time. Plus, I'll be running a popularity poll all next week, and I'd like enough time to get some numbers in for that. That'll be opening up on Friday.

Cambodia was a little harder to really get into I would imagine, not really knowing the characters all that well. Good to know you'll be reading!

"The Early Show"

Julie Chen: Not too long ago, we heard the news of the upcoming edition of Survivor. Jeff Probst was here to tell us a little bit about the season, but he left out any information on the contestants taking part. We're here this morning to finally announce the cast of Survivor: Polynesia - Second Chances.

Julie Chen: Starting of the list is Brook Geraghty, of Survivor: Vanuatu. He was devastated when he was voted out first in his original season, and now he's back and he says there's no way he'll let that happen again.

Brook: I hated being voted out first, and it's never left my mind. This time, there's no way that's going to happen. This time around it's going to be my game.

Julie Chen: Four return from Survivor: Palau, starting with Wanda Shirks, known for not being picked to be on a tribe at the start of the season. She was never able to show us what she was made of and hopes to do that this time around.

Julie Chen: Next, there's Jeff Wilson. He was out third in Palau, asking his tribe to vote him out after he tripped over a coconut and injured his ankle.

Julie Chen: Angie Jakusz joins the cast after being one of the most popular of the dreaded Ulong tribe. She hopes that things won't go so poorly for her as they did in Palau.

Angie: It was devastating to keep losing challenge after challenge. I don't think I can handle another loss.

Julie Chen: The last person from Palau is James Miller, known for being one of the show's most memorable rednecks. I'm sure he'll have plenty of ways to keep us entertained again.

Julie Chen: From Survivor: Guatemala, it's former Ivy-League student, Brian Corridan. Being one of the smartest people this season, he'll have plenty to offer when it comes to strategy.

Brian: I don't really think I made a mistake in Guatemala. I was voted out due to a swap, and there was nothing I could do. I know I'm going to have a strong mental game, so I think I'll have an advantage over the others.

Julie Chen: Two more ladies join us from Survivor: Exile Island. First we have Tina Scheer, remembered for her tragic story of the loss of her son just a few months before appearing on the show. Now that a few years have passed, how will she do this time?

Julie Chen: Next is Misty Giles, former beauty pageant winner and current engineer. She's got the looks and the brains to go with them.

Misty: A lot of people underestimate me because of my looks. But I'm going to prove them wrong when I'm the one behind voting for them at tribal council.

Julie Chen: From the Cook Islands, Cao Boi Bui is returning for another chance at the game. His personality got on the nerves of others last time; it'll be interesting to see how his game changes this time.

Julie Chen: From Survivor: Fiji, we have Erica Durousseau. She was voted out second in her original season, but she plans to avoid the mistakes she previously made.

Julie Chen: Also joining us from Fiji is Anthony Robinson. He had a hard time fitting in with the men on Ravu, but can he manage to be successful on his new tribe?

Julie Chen: We have four more returning from one of the recent seasons, Survivor: China. First we have WWE diva, Ashley Massaro. She suffered an illness before, so how will she fare with better health?

Ashley: I didn't expect to go so soon in China. I think that being sick really hurt me, but now that I'm feeling fine, I hope to be much more successful.

Julie Chen: Next we have Leslie Nease: mother and Christian radio talk show host. She was targeted early for being a liability in challenges, but she has said she's much tougher than she may look.

Julie Chen: Also from China, we have Dave Cruser, also known as "Crazy Dave". He came across as bossy before, but he says he has learned from his mistakes and won't make the same ones again.

Dave: Let's face it; I was a <censored>. I don't know what I was thinking, but I definitely have a new plan and I'm certain it's going to work.

Julie Chen: Aaron Reisberger was hurt by a twist where the opposing tribe was able to steal him, and they ended up voting him off immediately. He had some bad luck in China; let's hope he doesn't have it again.

Julie Chen: From the newest season, Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites, we have Tracy Hughes-Wolf. Many fans were upset to see her voted off, so it was a must to have her back.

Tracy: I'm not one who settles for anything less than first. This time, I'm going to win, no questions asked.
