Me too Trixie. I feel so stupid. Last night my husband had the nerve to mention my age and ask me if I wasn't a little old for this, the bastard.

Hubby was looking at me like I was clearly crazy this morning after I told
him how late I was up voting. I don't care. It's all in good fun!!!!! And why not try to make a nice guy's dream come true? Right? Tomorrow I'll hate myself...but today I feel good that I might have given Cook a chance. *all fantardy...but who cares!* |

This show is fixed. Simon's comments were so tailored to take votes away from Cookie!!

Exchange between me and my hub after he walks into bedroom at 12:30 and sees me with the phone:
Mr. Fru: Who are you calling at 12:20 in the morning? Me: American Idol Mr. Fru: (with look of bewilderment) WHY? Me: to vote for David Cook Mr. Fru: (with that half smile mocking look) You're kidding me, right? Me: Nope Mr. Fru: You're nuts. Me: Get your cell phone and start voting with me! Mr. Fru: You've got absolutely NO shot of that happening. I'm outta here. LOL. I gave up at 12:30 but got it at least 250 votes. *crosses fingers, toes, eyes* |

I used DialIdol for the first time and it got in 676 votes! Also, texted all 4 hours on the gophone, so at least another 500 there. Only got in about 4 votes
on land line - lines VERY busy in Missouri. Man, how I HATE Simon now. His comments made absolutely NO sense. Archie does exactly the same thing he has done
every single week, but now its a "knock-out?" I don't get it.

Good morning Cooktards!
Here is an article in The Oklahoman today. The bar in Tulsa that David Cook used to work at is called Rehab Lounge. I guess Amy Winehouse won't be going there! Wed May 21, 2008
Tulsan learns 'Idol' fate tonight
By George Lang
A few times a week, long after his morning shift ended at Tulsa's alternative rock station, KMYZ-FM 104.5, deejay Chuck Stikl used to pull up a stool at the Rehab Lounge and talk music with the bartender. The mixologist was a spiky-haired singer-songwriter who understood the music business, had a strong, resonant voice and worked hard at his craft, taking any club gig that could pay him $50 a night. That bartender was David Cook, who will find out tonight if he is this season's "American Idol" champion. Stikl thinks that Cook, 25, could be the winner tonight, mainly because his style and sensibility seems more geared for long-term radio success than his fellow finalist, 17-year-old David Archuleta. "I don't really know if I'm sold on him (Archuleta) being a pop star," Stikl said. "If it was 'Broadway Idol,' the guy would win hands down - the guy's incredible. But I think his age kind of plays against him a little bit, and I think that plays to Cookie's benefit, definitely." Stikl said he and Cook often talked about the music business, discussing the latest installment of record industry analyst Bob Lefsetz' blog, and trying to chart the best route to success. "He was always into the industry, into the business, so it's not like he's one of those guys who just popped up," Stikl said. "He was always a guy who was always into it and driven, but always a super, super nice guy." Adopted hometown is watching Anticipation is heating up in Cook's adopted hometown for the final "American Idol" episode, which airs at 7 tonight on KOKH-25 in Oklahoma City and KOKI-23 in Tulsa. Concert promoter and Tulsa radio personality Davit Souders said area musicians are showing interest in how Cook comes out and how it could impact the scene. "Well, a lot of people like myself are excited to see our part of the world represented," Souders said. "There's always going to be some musicians that don't aspire to head to a competition like 'American Idol.' But for every one or two of those, there's about 30 that are very excited about it. Anybody else who is working and pushing their craft can appreciate all the elements it takes to go through that." KOKI-23 reporter Carrie Netherton is in Los Angeles, filing reports in front of the Nokia Theatre, site of the "American Idol" finale. Netherton said Cook reportedly will be collaborating with a surprise guest on tonight's episode. "He did say that he's really excited about a duet he has on Wednesday," Netherton said. "He won't say who it's with - they always have those surprise guests, but they never tell us who they are. I have some guesses, but I don't know. Maybe Lionel Richie? Or Our Lady Peace, or maybe Chris Cornell? I don't know - it could be anybody." With all the mystery and excitement surrounding the final round, Stikl said that Cook is probably the most surprised. "I don't think he really expected to be winning this thing," Stikl said. "I think he thought, 'Well, that's cool - I'll get some exposure and then I can go out and do my thing. And as the weeks went on, I think he started to realize, 'Oh my goodness, I could win this.'" |

I just watched World I Know again, and it struck me that Simon mentioning doing Billie Jean gave Cook the opportunity to defend himself that he might
not have gotten otherwise. He gave him the chance to point out that it's preferable to not rehash old glories. Or maybe I'm just trying to
reconcile the Simon on Ellen with the one last night.

If anybody else did the same shit over and over they would have got called out for it, but no.
Porkchop gets a tongue bath for it! And for you Cook fans, I have to say I tried like hell to vote for him and the lines were rigged. Couldn't get through, only got a dial tone. Never a recording saying my vote went in or whatever. They were preventing people from voting for Cook. |

I had no problem voting for David C. Last night was the first time all year I bothered but the judges pissed me off on how they kissed DA's ass and
dismissed DC. I couldn't get Dial Idol to work but I did get in at least 50 votes for DC. We all know if he doesn't win he will sell more cd's
than David A. no doubt in my mind. This is why Idol is going down in viewership the best singer doesn't alway's win and to many viewers think it's
rigged which in all likely hood it is.
Randy Jackson is a tool, Paula is clueless. |

I hope David Cook wins and he's totally surprised and he cries and his sick brother comes to the stage and they all hug and Archie is pushed to the
background and trips and gets lost in the falling balloons and nobody can find him ever again so his recording contract goes to Syesha.

Way to go all the Cook fans. Thanks for throwing in votes for the foreigners.
I won't be around tonight b/c I'm going to a friend's to enjoy the show (hopefully I'll enjoy it). I'll be back for celebration or with rage later. |

Our local radio station picks up the Kidd Kraddick in the morning show out of Dallas.
They were talking about Idol this morning and they said they had reports that the rumors around the set were that the producers/execs were hoping for a Cook win because they didn't want to deal with Papachuleta (who they likened to being one tick shy of Joe Simpson...the ultimate stage dad!). They also said that Adam is in LA but is not doing well enough to be in the audience. They were going to try to be there tonight, but it wasn't looking good. |

I cannot believe I actually voted last night and had 4 other people voting with me for Cookie. I haven't voted since AI2. I still don't think my
votes count but I voted anyway because it made me feel better. The judges treated cookie like shit and they suck.
