David Cook.
The World I Know by Collective Soul. Love the slower-than-the-original, acoustic start! I'm not Cookie's biggest fan, and the pitchiness in spots here interrupts what otherwise would have been a very memorable experience through the first verse. Heading into the chorus, this is exactly what 90's acoustic versions sounded like. A period piece, this. Alice In Chains, Collective Soul, any of the grunge bands, this is what their acoustic classics sounded like. He's knocking this one out of the park, lyrically, and in terms of his interpretation. Pitchy in spots, though, which pulled it down a notch or so for me. He ends, crying. An 8. Randy: One of the cool things about you, is that you're showing people a lot of different sides of David Cook. I love this sensitive side. This is the kind of record you could make. Very nice job! Very nice! Paula: I see you up on that stage, standing in your truth, delivering songs with integrity and originality. I'm applauding you, David Cook. (Standing ovation.) Simon: You are actually one of the nicest, most sincere contestants we've had. Beautiful song, but completely and utterly the wrong song choice for you on the night. You should have sung Billie Jean or Hello. You understand what I'm saying? David: Yes and no. For me this whole thing has been a progression. Why do something I've already done? Audience: IEEE! David: But for the record, I understand what you're saying. |

You know what? I thought David Cook's last performance was just spectacular...touching and spot on. I haven't liked anything he has done as much as I
liked THAT.
