I know a guy who named his daughter 'Shira'.
After a character in a Star Wars comic book. |

I work with someone who's name is Bonny, and her pet peeve is "people that mis-spell my name"....if you spelled it like everyone else,
B-O-N-N-I-E, you wouldn't have to worry about it, would you?
I also hate when people have last names that they try to match up with the first name. I went to school with a Penny Nichols and a Robert Roberts. Why would you do that to your kid? |

I once went to elementary school with a kid who claimed to be Persian (in the late 70s).
It wasn't until later that I found out he was Iranian. |

ETA: I'm not sure why the link isn't working, but there's a whole list of names there that people supposedly have, but PROBABLY don't.

I think my most hated is Kayla. It is Kay with la. Just sounds dumb. And I know a girl who named her son Kori. That makes me giggle everytime I type it.

Jayme or Jaime instead of Jamie.* Jayme is stupid but I always thought that Jamie was the boy spelling and Jaime was the girl spelling of the name. *Going backa bit to the 2 Timothy's ...I once knew twins named Alanna and Ilana. It wasn't that bad since Alanna went by Lani (pronounced Loni). *Oh and I used to know a Graig (greg) which is basically Craig w/ a G. This has nothing to do w/ retarded spellings but I despise names like Naveah, Destiny, Angel and Crystal. Disgusting. |

The girl that checked out my groceries at Safeway the other day was named Brittknee. It actually took me a second to see what the fuck that was supposed to be.
