Just look at the pages right after the finale.

She could have flunked both tests and they would have found a reason to make her win. Like, "Wow, look how positive and sunny her attitude always is in panel! What a role model!" If she wasn't eliminated for countless crappy photo shoots, believe me, it wasn't just because of the final picture and runway that she won. Better models than her were eliminated for bullshit reasons. We all know that season was pre-determined. She just happened to do decently on the final exam, but either way, it wouldn't have mattered.

Towards the end, she managed to do better for at least one week than people who are actually more modelesque than her. Lisa fucked up. Heather fucked up. Jenah fucked up (that hideous CG pic)... Bianca and Chantal sucked even more than Saleisha did... The way the show works, I don't think the Saleisha win was so out of left field. The judges are free to evaluate week to week. They do not HAVE to look at who has overall the best body of work until the end...

There was nothing special about Saleisha and, even if there was a last minute glimmer of promise, it didn't warrant her winning the prize. It doesn't even matter arguing about it, either. It's over and we'll see how much work Saleisha gets as a model in the real world. I'm hoping now that her MLAACG segments are gone, she can finally just sink back into obscurity.

Her flower shoot was the worst. She looked like a fucking video slut in her gargoyle one. Her recycle shot was one of the worst, despite the judges being on crack and calling her first for it. And she didn't do anything special in the commercial at all. They bashed Chantal for doing the same thing she did. Don't even get me started on her first CG shot. I would've told that bitch to walk out the door the second that picture came up. Point blank, Jenah/Lisa/Heather/Ebony/Chantal would all make better models than she would. She hasn't done squat since her commercial.

If I remember correctly, the judges were beating down on her because of her confidence? And I understand your point at Saleisha not being the worst (except for the flower shoot) but they have cut MANY girls who were not the worst in the bunch, based on miscellaneous zany reasons. At the final 3, they really should have said, "Saleisha, your body of work does not hold up compared to the other two. You just don't look like a model at all." That was the right moment to cut her. Jenah was consistently at the top of the pack every week with pictures, and that was one of the lamest reasons ever given to a contestant to get rid of her. Jenah DID NOT fuck up that week. Even though you don't like the picture, and you have the right to not like it, but calling it hideous is a bit of a stretch.

Confidence or a good personality doesn't mean shit if you don't actually look like a model or take good enough pictures to reasonably be a print model. (Saleisha.) They're basically saying someone like Joan Rivers could walk into an agency and get booked for a swimsuit ad because she has a "bubbly spirit" about her or whatever the heck Tyra rants about.

I don't even care if it's a personality contest. What I do hate about this show is that, despite it being a personality contest, vapid cunts like Translene, Saleishit, and Fatney win, when there were girls in there respective seasons (and even standing right next to them in the final 2--ala Anya) with much better modeling ability AND better personalities. But I'm still watching cause I lurve me some trainwrecks.

But I do feel that she wouldn't have been quite so hated without that ridiculous haircut. Even though you'd think it's generate some sympathy, and it's clearly not her fault, dunno, something about that haircut was just so completely obnoxious, couldn't help but dislike her for having to look at it. I think the same is true with Whitney and her busted weave (the colour, as putrid as it was, was the least of the things wrong with it). Not saying I wouldn't still dislike her, but for some reason, that makeover just made her that much more annoying.

It made her look like Toadette from the Mushroom Kingdom. They should have made it more Rihanna-esque, with the long front and the short back.
