That whole Billie storyline just fizzled out quickly. Just like the jail and coma storylines.
Is it just me or is this series just wandering all over the place aimlessly? This last season has been terrible with only a couple of bright spots. |

I think Earl may have to be put out to pasture. Now a "Joy and the Crabman" spinoff would work. They could go around solving mysteries in a van or
something.

I marathoned the final four eps last night, and was pleasantly surprised.
Is it just me or is this series just wandering all over the place aimlessly?Yes and no. It was more Earl battling the vagaries of karma as though he was trying to placate some island goddess that held it together. That's why Billie kept changing personalities with each ep. And there were some funny moments -- Joy reading the "poetry" and Crabman going "did you pee a little? I did." Earl & Randy picking up the Camdenites? These were reminescent of the MNE of old. What struck me is how they're getting away with basically making fun of the handicapped -- hopping one legged girl, plus the killerball guys (anybody go all WOO! with the FNL guy showing up as JR?). Anyhow, the end of the season didn't suck as badly as the rest of the season. Earl's out of jail, the coma crap is done with for good, and Catalina hopefully sticks to her lezbo leanings. Here's hoping Garcia pulls it together for season 4 and gets back the funny. |

Yeah, they better get back on track to season 1 kind of funny or this is going to go down the tubes fast. |

Yes, she reunited with Paco. Who was dressed up in combination lederhosen and a sombrero. If that doesn't make a lezzie wannabe become a lezzie for reals, what could? Besides, there were too many happy happy, joy joy easy tie-offs to the storylines. Oh, btw she wasn't a lipstick lesbian. She was determined that she was a "chapstick" lesbian. I love Catalina, I love her so much.... But not as much as Joy. |

I'd been staying away from this thread because I hadn't watched any of the last 4 episodes, and didn't want to be spoiled or tainted by opinions.
I was pretty happy with the season until the strike delay, and loved the prison storyline. I don't know if everything was just telescoped into too few eppys. Post-coma, the whole Billie thing moved too quickly, though there were many bright spots with Joy & Crabman (especially living at the bar), and the regulars who Earl has helped before, and continue to interact. And Tim Stack. |
