New betting odds below. Michael Johns is a seriously good deal here. I truly believe David Archuleta will do a Clay Aiken thing - float to the top based on a
huge fan base voting, but in the final two, AI producers are going to give the show to Michael Johns. Think about it - he's the only contestant so far
that hasn't received some damaging criticism. They always just say, "we just haven't seen the best you can do yet", or "you need to
find your signature song" or some other garbage. He' a great deal at 9/1 odds approximately. You heard it here first, kids.........

Online Gambling Sites Favor David Cook Over Archuleta to Win 'Idol'Monday, May 19, 2008 
Michael Becker/FOX With the first part of the "American Idol" finale approaching on Tuesday night, the online gambling sites were favoring one David over another. As of Sunday, the oddsmakers were favoring rocker David Cook over young, wholesome David Archuleta, the New York Post reported. BetCRIS.com makes Archuleta the 2 to 1 underdog (a winning $1 bet returns $3) in Tuesday's showdown. Odds that David Cook will win are 1 to 3 (a $3 bet pays $4). Bodoglife.com gives Archuleta - who was once the gambling site's pick to take "Idol" top honors - a slightly better chance of winning. But he is still the underdog at 3 to 2. David Cook is around 2 to 5. And Bet365.com lists Cook at a bit higher than 5/2 while Archuleta's odds are pegged at 1 to 2. |
