Helio was a man (and had Julianne for a partner). Different expectations. When that happens to a woman, there's more backlash.

I think the reason there was grief the first season is because Kelly sucked. She fell during her freestyle and the judges gave her a perfect score. And it pissed people off.Ahh - I didn't know that. I wish Mel won last year but since I cannot change history, I can only hope there isn't a backlash. |

Since it was the first season, people accused the show of just being a chance for ABC to pimp its own shit too, since she was on All My Children.
I still think Kristi will win, but I think she'll probably be the last female winner. It'll be hard to find a woman as well liked, iconic, and talented as her. She has the Olympic legend factor AND she kicks ass on the dance floor. People like Stacy, Sabrina, and Mel just weren't popular or well known enough in America for the masses (of old women) to get behind. |

I almost forgot to say how much I enjoyed the group cha cha. I was bitching earlier about the finale being boring, but that was a lot of fun, so I eat my
words.
Kristi and Mark had the best freestyle since Joey/Kym or Drew/Cheryl, even if it wasn't perfect. Cristian and Cheryl also weren't bad. |

You know who I think is very unfair about this? On the finale, they eliminate the 3rd place couple and then the F2 dance again. But, the thing is they count
the public votes from the F3 performance. Isn't that a bit unfair? And not just because the votes were cast for an entirely different performance, but
because those who support the 3rd place couple can't vote.
So like last year, I believe Mel and Helio were tied with the judge's points. So the votes decided it. But, I bet all the Marie votes would have gone to Mel. So, it's like.... Helio only won in a situation where votes for Marie, Mel, and Helio were cast but only ones for Mel and Helio were counted. If the Marie voters were to vote again, I bet the majority would have gone to Mel. That whole process is really strange. |

Now that this show has been on for so long, I find myself rooting for my favorite pro's rather than the celebrities. I love Edyta, which is why my votes went to Jason & Edyta tonight. Not because I don't like Kristi, but because I adore Edyta <3. |

Kelly Monaco was on GH, not AMC. I didn't vote for her at all. I did vote for Kristi tonight, for the first time though. I thought she deserved to win,
based on her performance tonight. Both guys seemed stiff (not in a good way), and I'm voting for the star, not the pro dancer.

Mark is becoming one of my favorite pros and I usually hate the guys. His only partners have been really good partners though, so we'll see if my love
holds up when he gets sucky people. Even though Kristi is by far the best technical dancer, he still challenges her though, and it's fun to see someone
choreograph difficult routines.
If she had someone like Maks, she would have been stagnant and forced to dance some boring ass freestyle tonight. |

 I just knew they'd save the Kristi pwnag for finale night. It was already obvious she was going to win even without the pimping. 1st place all but
two weeks, and even then, those two weeks it was 2nd place. Amazing. <3
