Despite them all being 19E's bitches now, I still think the winners have a lot more fingers meddling in their albums than runner-ups.

What not too many people are facing on this thread is that BOTH Davids are the chosen ones. This is the dream finale that Simon & Co, have wanted for all
or most of the season. They obviously consider them to be the only singers this year who could have a platinum CD, and they may be right. During the top 12,
Cook had wretched performances on Dolly Parton night and Mariah Carey night without getting any criticism for them. And Archuleta sang boring, interchangable
ballads all the way from top 11 through top 6 that nobody but fanatical Archtards can remember, regardless of the alleged genre, and the judges praised him to
the skies every week anyway. And both seemed to sing in the pimp spot an awful lot. I'm supporting Cook now, because Archuleta is demon spawn and his
winning would hasten the apocolypse, but that doesn't change the fact that they have both have been pimped an awful lot.

Simon Cowell Predicts "American Idol" WinnerMay 15, 2008 And the winner of American Idol is David Cook...at least, according to judge Simon Cowell's prediction. The opinionated judge told Blender magazine when asked who he thinks deserves to win: "Probably David Cook." "I think he's done more to deserve it over the eleven weeks. He's taken more risks, he's done things with certain songs that have been more interesting. If I'm gonna base it on who has done the best performances over the live shows, David Cook deserves to win," adds Cowell. Last month, reports emerged that producers of American Idol were worried about sinking ratings and considering some major changes to the show. One change Cowell insists needs to be made is getting rid of boring contestants. "There was a classic moment last week," Cowell told the magazine. "We had these callers phone in and I forget what the question was - 'What do you like?' - and they [TOP 4 contestants] just sat there. They couldn't talk. It was literally un-be-liev-able." American Idol finalists David Cook and David Archuleta will go head to head in the finale on May 20.

I read a great article about how this season had TOO much talent. It's NOT a talent show. It's a reality TV show about discovering a pop star. Next
Season they better forget about THE MOST TALENTED ever and just find some interesting characters. The show only needs about 4 or 5 people with talent. The
rest can just be fun. Plus no more plants or Star Search winners, please. If they can't find regular people who can sing, they should do the show ever
two years. (not that they'll do that).

Eh, I'm not voting but I don't know who I want to win. I get a creepy feeling about DC being in the hands of 19, and especially as the winner. And I
kind of like the idea of sending out that inarticulate little porkchop as the winner LOL. But I think TPTB have decided on DC, so DC it will be. Get ready DC
and good luck dealing with the devil!

I cannot believe I am writing this, but I have thought a little about it, and I now hope David A. wins. *involuntary shudder*
He has bored me over 90% of the time and the thought of his dad being happy with him winning sucks, but he seems like a nice enough kid and he can sang. But what is really important is that he is not who TPTB want to see win. Some people might say he is who TPTB want to win, but it's obvious he's been set up throughout the whole season for the fall. He's destined for second place. I want a shocker, and while David A. winning isn't the same as, say, Leah Labelle winning, I will have to settle for this. I actually like David C. better and if he wins, I'll be happy his dying brother got to see it, but he's bored me recently and he'll do fine win or lose. So, *another involuntary shudder* go David A.! |

I too thought about it a lot and I want David A to win. I don't care much for his over-effusive fan clubs, or his obnoxious stage dad, or his copying old
Idol performances robotically. But he's an awkward kid who has been pimped to the skies all season long. He's programmed to win this. To throw him out
in favor of David Cook, just to make a "shocker", is too cruel. He's only a child and they led him on all season long. Besides he has to win the
million dollars to keep peace in the family. He's their cash cow. David Cook doesn't need to win. He'll go ahead and be the new Clay/Daughtry with
platinum cds. If David doesn't win what's next for him? Playing local casinos ? Playing a cruise ship? Entering more contests until he wins? What's
left?

I very rarely post but had to weigh in here. I don't believe David Cook was the chosen one and was actually not planned to make the Top 12. He was the
rocker they expected to leave first-before Robbie and Michael Johns-the "fodder", if you will. David Cook's personality was cast in a negative
light early on with the smug, arrogant remarks from Simon. Those remarks were planned to furthur his ouster but the viewing audience saw beyond Simons's
words and saw talent. David Archuleta has always been the chosen one. This was apparent before the show even began. He was always in the press and heavily
pimped while David C. saw no early pimping and has fought the uphill battle to stay in the competition. David C. bucking the Idol machine and with his
expanding fan base was an obvious choice to cover the Archuleta win.
All of you who feel David Cook is the chosen one are playing right into Idol's hands and will secure his win-just what Idol has planned from very early on. |

David A. might have been the original chosen one and David C. might not have been TCO at first, but from about "Billie Jean" on, it's been
obvious TPTB want David C. to win and David A. to come in second.
It's actually very, very similar to last season. Everyone thought Melinda was TCO, but in reality I think TPTB were always planning on Jordin winning. I think TPTB are actually way more cunning than most people think, and they've come up with this strategy of making one person an obvious TCO for most of the season to get people bored of them and annoyed with them while sliding in someone else perhaps more marketable to win at the last moment so it appears more of a surprise. I think Jordin was picked by TPTB from the very beginning of last year to win. I'm not sure they always planned on David C. winning this year, but I do think they always planned on somebody beating David A. and just hadn't decided who at first. |

Nigel announced that the Davids could pick any of the coronation songs submitted to sing for the finals. It's fair but I thought they were doing the
voting thing again this year. One advantage for Cook. He doesn't have to pick a sappy song better suited for Archie. Also no direct comparison of how well
they sing. Again, advantage - Cookie.

If Cook is now "TCO," it's because of his own efforts and his voting fans. Without either of those things, tptb would not be supporting him.
What's really silly is that TCO isn't something that someone becomes during the season. The TCO tag belongs to someone going into the 12, at the latest, as the one the producers want to win. If someone becomes the front runner, you can say tptb are pimping them for the win, but it doesn't make them the TCO. Archie was one of, if not THE, TCO from the beginning. If he's fallen from grace now, it doesn't change that. Cook was never TCO, he was fodder at the beginning, at least for Simon. |

I just want to know why all the 'entertainment' shows are only pimping DA?? Some show is on now and they just promoted some shit piece about his
hometown coming up. I'm thrilled.

Even though Cook is TCO and is supposedly going to sell albums, he's kind of boring. So I expect Porkchop to get most of the tabloid attention even if he
comes in 2nd. He's a natural for teen mags, tabloid TV.

Did you not get the memo, opendoor? Cook is not TCO, he is the mid-season pimped one (TPO.) And rightly so.

Or could be there's no "Chosen One", and never was, nor any pimping going on, and never has been. |
