I loved the scene where Sam and Spike had sex. Or was that just in my head? |

I have been spending entirely too much time trying to figure out why Sam looks horrid in that photo shoot back a couple pages. It's the haircut. Sam has
a weird pointy head on the back top of his scull, and the buzz cut is making him look "special." He needs to keep his hair longer so that it hides
that weird head shape.
OK. Now that I got that cleared up. . . . Can Spike be any slimier? He should focus on cooking and not strategizing. Good food speaks for itself and doesn't have to be manipulated. And I keep thinking that the confessionals with (Antonia? Stephanie?) who keep saying, "Dale's behavior is going to haunt him" might end up referring to some final conflict. Remember how Wolverine (Marcel) got screwed in the finals because his assistants weren't interested in helping him. I think it was Michael who left the fish back at the hotel. So when Dale keeps saying, "Who cares about the people; I'm just here to cook," I keep thinking that he's going to get screwed in the end precisely because of his bad people skills. Loving Richard now that he's put away the high tech toys. Conceding that Dale can cook, but he's still a jerk. I like Stephanie and Antonia. Lisa is such an unpleasant person. I was just howling when she was talking about other people's poor social skills. Har, har, har. F4: Richard, Stephanie, Antonia and Dale? Restaurant Wars. Yeeehaaaw! I'm excited. |

challenges. Maybe that was an old confessional that they used, but it was really wrong.

I loved the scene where Sam and Spike had sex. Or was that just in my head? Not just yours. When Spike won the QF I yelled out "His reward should be that he gets to have sex with Sam!" Lisa is a douche and could have easily gotten the ax but I understand the Andrew boot too. No way was Spike going for not being creative when the other options are a guy who didn't follow the rules and missed a key part or the other who undercooked and under-seasoned her food. And Dale is a becoming a one-trick pony. Every dish is a variation of an Asian dish. It's very Saffrony of him. Let's hope the season ends differently than S2. |

Just out of curiosity:
Why the hate on people who cook one style of cuisine? Most of the biggest chefs all focus on one style, why should the Top Chef have to be talented in multiple styles? |

I'm still convinced the judges picked Marcel and the producers overruled them because they didn't want the "villain" to win.
I don't think Hung stuck with one style at all. If he did, I'd say that style was "haute cuisine" with all his sous-vide shit rather than any specific cultural cuisine... |

I thought Dale was a contender before this recent episode. The comment about how he only cooks one type of cuisine seemed like an overtly negative remark. The
Top Chef is of course going to have a specialty that they are exceptionally good at it but they should also be more than sufficient in other types of cuisine
as well. Dale falling back on just Asian cuisine shows he is playing it safe and not trying to work outside of the box.
I say F4: Richard, Antonia, Stephanie, and the 4th slot is up for grabs. I'd like Spike to be in there for entertainment purposes but I wouldn't be shocked if Lisa sneaks in there undeservedly. |

ummm... because "top chef" is not really about finding a top chef? its entertainment about putting a bunch of wannabe line cooks through ridiculous exercises (like a meal from a gas station venue, or a wedding in 24 hours, or being asked to ever microwave any food ever...) (a real chef would never do that. a top chef would kill first, most likely the asshole asking them to do so.)its survivor for some mactors that can cook. one step above "hell's kitchen". hell, maybe just a half-step. "i like this one" vs "i hate that one." they should call it "america's idol chef, but you just don't get to vote." and the results would be the same. a half ass singer/chef every time. blerg. like that...

The comment about how he only cooks one type of cuisine seemed like an overtly negative remark Could be, but then again I saw the quote as the foreshadowing fairy giving Dale the win. And really, most of the other cheftestants are one trick wonders too. Nikki is Italian, I think Lisa also does Asian. Since the judges haven't said anything (at least not yet) it just feels like an easy way to pick on a guy that the others don't like. |
