Well...BB UK will always have one thing over BB USA, even if they resign themselves to the vastly inferior rule set. British people are far more interesting
than Americans on the whole, and their reality tv is cast much better.

There will still be public voting. They make too much money off those votes to do away with them completely.

I dont mind if they have some sort of HOH type thing, as long as the public votes, that way it wont be strategy talk 24/7.
If they have it where the HOH gets to nominate one person and the house gets to nominate the other nominee(s) that could work...as long as they set it up so one side doesnt get the HOH each week. I'd prefer they keep things the same as it has always been, but I'm sure they will do it well. |

Last year was a disaster.

Any format will be successful as long as the casting is great.

If they do an HOH hopefully the same people don't win it over and over...
and hopefully they wont rig it for people like Charley to stay in... or would that be a good thing? ;) |

The new eye is meh. I liked last year's eye with it's colorfulness.

If the rules change a bit I'm good, I agree with Former, no way they would get rid of the votes and as we've seen with other reality shows in the UK
big time strategy reality shows haven't really done all that well.
Just as long as we get great tasks, great housemates, a crazy looking house, and a diary room that is almost always open I will be happy. |

Bring on the rule change....after about Week 6 of BB8, 95% of the stuff on screen put me to sleep. This compared to BB7 which riveted me in every single frame.
Sorry to those that still think there's a chance the old format can work, but it's just too big of a risk. Maybe if the show went back to a half-hour a night it would work out, but an hour with a media-whore cast that does nothing but
repeat repetitive catchphrases or pretend to be stupid is too much of a risk. Plus, let's face the music, another BB8-sorta season and this thing is done.
Yes, there will be an overabundance of strategic talk but who cares? This show has no recap, Julie Chen or family segments and runs six hours a week + eviction/interview. There will be plenty of character development. Take out week long food tasks and there could be more we learn about these people than in most season's past. I bet Victor's wishing he would've kept his application in the drawer until this moment. |

Keep in mind that normally at this point before a season we get a lot of talk about twists, rule changes, cast 'leaks' etc that never pan out. Not
saying it won't happen but "grain of salt".

The format isn't as much of the problem imo, as it is their mediawhore casting.

Hopefully, Chanelle's reality tv show sucked up this year's dose of vapid stupid fame whores so we can be spared on Big Brother this summer. Then
again, the UK seems to have their fair share and much more.

The format isn't as much of the problem imo, as it is their mediawhore casting. The casting is a product of this particular format. You have to try to appeal to the UK audience to stick around and Brian played the part perfectly. Forcing them to forgo that and save their own ass every week by winning competitions or avoiding nominations altogether will give them less time to worry about the public booing them, trying to appeal to Channel 4 viewers, etc. |

Well we already know FOR SURE that this season...
What that means, I don't know.. but they did just run BBUSA on E4. |

I can't imagine they'll ever get rid of the public vote, even though its no longer a money-spinner for them. I can imagine the game-playing being more
of the 'state of Susie' type, where people in power just try to turn on anyone who seems hated by the public, since they'll still determine the
winner.
I wonder who'll be the UK version of Fairplay/Dr Will |

whatever happens, hopefully it will be great t.v. for us to watch, anything is an improvement from last year. They can only go up.

I don't understanhd why, just cause they had one off season, everyone feels the need to panic and change everything. It's just one season, it
doesn't mean the format is bad, it just means it was a bad batch of contestants. They can fix everything with some better casting, if anything making it
more like BBUS will only further destroy the series.

I didn't think last year was terrible not as good as some other seasons but not terrible. Maybe it is because I haven't seen all the seasons yet. But I
still think it held up pretty well. I still consider the UK version the best of the English speaking versions (haven't watch South Africa). Going back to
half hour episodes would help, that way only the real highlights appear, but I would be sad if it really became like BBUS.
I know season nine aired on E4, but didn't it suck in the ratings? I know something like 3 million is good over there, but didn't it get less then a million? I just can't see the general public over there really appreciating a strategic game. |
