Memy, I saw the Bush comment as being inappropriate because you don't go abroad and bad mouth candidates back home. That old Reagan thing about all domestic politics stops at the water's edge, america speaks with one voice type of thing. It was a low blow from Bush and undignified. |

Bush giving any speech about the evils of Nazi appeasers is just kind of rich, given the longstanding rumors that Grandpappy Bush's fortune resulted in large part from doing business with the Nazis. Oh good grief, get a grip. 4. Bush's address to the Knesset was supposed to be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Israel so it should have been about Israel, but this whole episode made the whole thing about him and about the U.S. And speaking to them about the security of their country and how he believes our foreign policy is relevent to that, as well as speaking about their history and how foreign policies of the time contributed to the killing of them by the millions is somehow off topic? |

The libs seem to forget when Gore went to Saudia Arabia and apologized about what the US is doing in the ME.
Gore went to the "global wamriing" international conference and said how little the US did to help. Bush talked about what happens when you try to negotiate with the terroisst directly. Look at the good Nancy did in Syria and Carter in Palestine. YEs, you can negotiate with say Iran but at low level with little news spotlite. |

Kennedy telling Kruschev that we would blockade Cuba if the Soviets didn't pull their missiles out of Cuba, but we'd make concessions in regards to our
missiles in Turkey if they did pull out wasn't the same as sitting at the table with no preconditions.
You think that Reagan tore down the USSR with diplomacy? He did it with action, in the form of a military build up. Carter was the diplomacy only president who did nothing to stop the Cold War. Nixon is the only analogy that works, sort of. But at the time China wasn't threatening us or our allies, unless you count their support of North Korea. Obama wants to sit down with the funders of the people who are killing our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, it would be like Nixon going to China during the Korean War. |
