Posts: 4148 (05/15/08 3:05 PM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Artiee, if you really want to ensure that the "weaklings" don't make it to the end, why don't you just eliminate the player that does worse in the challenges and get rid of the voting aspect altogether, since that's the ONLY way the weakest player would ever be eliminated under your system (plus you're going down that path anyway with your "solutions" which include giving immunity to the best player who doesn't get one of the top spots, which makes absolutely no sense).

Say a 100 yard dash or swim, lets say Swim!!! So here's my prediction of the winners and losers of a 100 yrd swim, not in order of finish mind you just the top 1/2 and bottom 1/2. Winners: Ozzie, Jason, Erik, Penner, MikeyB, Alexis, Amanda, Parv, Tracy, Eliza Losers: Joel, James, Cirie, Kathy, Chet, Yau-man, Ami, JFP, Natalie, Mary Boy the winners would have a real braintrust there, might as well go ahead and have a jury vote for Eliza vs. Penner on day 2, throw in Alexis for a final 3.

Everyone gets unlucky at one time or another in this game when it comes to challenges. Jebus sometimes they are as retarded as using the purple rock to decide a tie break. That should never ever effect your overall game. Challenges mean shit for the most part. Your retarded take on it would wipe out any and all STRATEGY which is what makes it special and vastly entertaining. You still haven't broken it down into an example using actual seasons and people involved which leads me to believe you can't.

The way things are now, the weak are voted out early because of the fact that in tribes, you need to be strong to win challenges. Plus, the stronger players have a better chance of forming alliances in initial tribes because they're able to form connections. Your system basically starts the booting of strong players BEFORE the merge, rather than after it.

You'll then race through the jungle and assemble your pieces. You'll be ranked on whoever gets their puzzle done the quickest, and, in case two people call "Done" at nearly the same instant and I can't decide who called it first for the sixth and final winner spot, we'll be keeping time down to the millisecond. Survivors ready...go! JP makes inane rambling comments that annoy everyone until... JP: Ozzy has a big lead...WAIT...HE STUMBLES OVER A ROOT IN THE JUNGLE AND IS DOWN! LOOKS LIKE HE'S SERIOUSLY INJURED!!! Ozzy: My foot! My foot! I think it's broken! I deserve medical attention immediately! I'm the star of this show and you know it Jeff! I deserve the million so I can get hand reduction surgery for my beloved Amanda! JP: Ozzy gonna have to crawl through jungle! Don't give up Ozzy! While Ozzy lays in the jungle, Eliza finishes her puzzle and picks up the 6th and final spot. Eliza: I won? I really won?? Zoinks!! This means no one can vote for me? They can't vote for me, can they Jeff? JP: Eliza picks up the sixth spot, everyone still working on their puzzle can stop. Those in the winners tribe, you'll be sending someone to Exile Island where they will get clue 737 telling them exactly where the idol has been hidden since day 1. Anyway, you see Artie...if someone loses, by sheer dumb luck, they'll a) have no time to strategize, especially if they are up against certain group of consistent losers who somehow skated by under any voting scenario and bonded, and b) have a huge target on their backs so that a weak player can climb into a winner spot. Even if you reversed it, and had the winners vote, Ozzy would be gone because there would be a majority of winners who are jealous/frightened of his gameplay and be overjoyed to cut him over Chet or Kathy or Cirie. Can you explain how what I just posted is wrong (open to anyone) and how your system would minimize these instances? How about if one of the losers was medevaced out of the game early on, meaning a strong player would definitely be going to the losers at the next challenge, and like above, end up getting that spot because of bad luck?

Chet and Kathy were both voted off before the merge. Stephenie made the merge twice. In fact, only one person who was booted pre-merge in Guatemala could truly be considered strong (Blake). The only reason strong players even make the merge anymore is because they're stuck in fixed tribes and can strategize to get themselves further in the game, something that won't be possible if they're put in a situation where there's no benefit to keeping them around. So you've yet to answer my earlier question: Why, in your system, would someone you proclaim as weak, like Chet, get voted out early? Why, in your system, would someone you have a hard-on for, like Ozzy, not get voted out early if he was ever in the losing group?

In what instance have some or all of the weak players on a tribe banded together to get rid of a stronger person WITHOUT there being some form of provocation from the stronger player? As far as I know (because I am totally retarded) there have been few instances of this - the Fat 5 getting rid of Brook (for obvious reasons), Jaime/PG throwing the challenge to get rid of Aaron (who could have made a case for himself over James) and the Aitu girls getting rid of JP (and even then the girls were getting tired of his egotism). The point is, most instances of strong people getting booted pre-merge have been reactive rather than proactive. Ironically enough, the use of dynamic teams would make plotting these boots even easier. I'll say this - the Fallen Comrades challenge under this system could prove to be hilarious, especially if there are Terry's or Ozzy's who would never have the chance to interact with the loser groups.
