Meh. Matthews was kissing Bush's ass four years ago.

This the same Matthews that was sucking Obama's cock and saying his speech on race should be required reading in high school?

I wonder if Matthews still gets a "tingle up his leg" when Obama speaks.

Matthews embarrassed that bigmouth know-nothing yesterday. Each side has them, it's just that he doesn't go out of his way to embarrass the ones who
share his views.
He kept saying "There's a difference between talking and appeasement." But what is talking? Is it negotiations? Is it face to face between the two leaders of countries, like Obama says on his website? Matthews point about the difference between 'talking' and appeasement (which he defined as giving something away) kind of loses its impact if you admit that 'talking' is code for negotiations, because isn't the point of 'negotiations' to give ground so your opponent will give up something too? And does anyone else think that Obamas stated proposal to sit down with Iran's leader give him legitimacy instead of isolating him from the world community of sane people, as we're trying to do now?

Last time I looked, Saudi Arabians we're responsible for 9/11. And who is Bush meeting with right now? He's kissing King Abdullah's oily ass hoping
it will lower the price of gas. Talk about appeasement.

So I see where Obama has called Bush's comments "appalling". I guess they were, but shouldn't we be ignoring him rather than giving him
attention now? And you have to be a special kind of narcissistic to think he was referring to you when he's been saying this kind of thing since you were
in Springfield. If he's the nominee, we're fucked.

I take that back. The comments weren't appalling, they were stupid. To call them appalling you look like a drama queen.

I don't get why they were stupid. As you said, he merely articulated his foreign policy stance to an audience who undoubtably agrees with it.

So what's the difference in what Bush said to all the dems saying that Bush's policies made the world unsafer?

Ya TRho, you must have missed his earlier post saying it was a good thing that the British appeased the Nazis.

It turns out that Bush was talking about Carter when he mentioned appeasement. Hey Obama, way to lump yourself with that tard by complaining about the speech.

TobaccoRhoda wrote: That whole ordeal was stupid on Bush's part for several reasons. 1. First, his office made a big stink about how the media should pay attention to them for its political undertones, then when they got blowback the White House tried to claim they weren't specifically about Obama and didn't know why people thought that. Yeah right. If you are going to be an undignified partisan hack abroad rather than act like the president of all Americans then own it rather than hide behind spin as that just makes it even more lame.2. Bush acting like he has any credibility on the Middle East and the protection of Israel after so many of his policies have actually put Israel in more danger - the instability in the region because of the pointless Iraq War, nothing done about Iran's nuclear program, his focus on the formation of Middle East democracies above all else leading to Hamas taking control of the Palestinian govt from Fatah, etc. 3. Bush giving any speech about the evils of Nazi appeasers is just kind of rich, given the longstanding rumors that Grandpappy Bush's fortune resulted in large part from doing business with the Nazis. 4. Bush's address to the Knesset was supposed to be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Israel so it should have been about Israel, but this whole
episode made the whole thing about him and about the U.S.
But the real big stupid was McCain who spent Thursday morning giving some flowery speech about what a civil and high-minded and consensus-building president
he would be and by the afternoon he had jumped into the partisan fray by piggybacking on W's comments and saying he agreed with them and his policy on the
Middle East as well as the smearing of Barack Obama as the Hamas-friendly candidate, even when it's the height of hypocrisy given what he said in a
televised interview two years ago about how he himself would work with Hamas as president.
