That was an incredibly mean-spirited practical joke. Denny looked pathetic and from Alan's facial expressions, it didn't seem that he was in on the reverse with Denny. With a new season, I guess we should wait for the series of cast changes to come. Lorraine, Whitney, and Clarence all may go. Nothing like being a regular when you appear in less than half the episodes.

I wish ABC would have treated the show better though... but at least we have 13 episodes to look forward to. I'd actually venture to say that if the show did really well again, they'd probably lengthen the season or renew it again, but maybe David E. Kelley wants to end it, I don't know. Or maybe yet another spin-off? A Hands spin-off??? His own small law firm??? Heehee.

It was nice to see Denny get some spark back... I had a feeling that he was going to decline more. I think to be honest with the progression of Alz., that next season he will have to continue the decline.

And the that lawyering between Denny and Alan this episode may well have been the best lawyer scene in TV history. Honestly I love how the writers make me care about liberal issues again but they wrote Denny's side really well too. For the record I do not agree with seceding from the union. So of course I agreed with Denny more but Alan made some kickass points too. Anyway that is how you do a defense scene in a lawyer show, take note other shows!

I do not know the details other than that. You know they will do it with a ton of class and if it is like what I imagine, we will all be talking of this being one of the best series finale's ever

I DO NOT want to see Denny die. I don't want to see Denny die either and I just don't think that it would be a smart direction for the show to go in. Denny needs to ride off into the sunset or as was the case here, walk off into the river to catch some trout. I could see them doing something quite heartbreaking like having Shirley tell Denny she still loves him on his death bed. At least he would die happy.

For someone that doesn't have a heart, I find myself actually moved by Alan, Denny, Jerry, and occasionally Shirley. I was excited for Denny and Alan when they got into the Coast Guard, loved the exchange between Jerry and Alan about friendships, and the court room scenes and closing were spot on. Boston Legal breaks the fourth wall at all the right times and Alan telling Jerry he hasn't seen him much this year not only held up to continuity but set up a great scene. I've said it before, but I love merose Jerry to Asperger's schtick Jerry. I'm glad I didn't tape it. This will encourage me to get the dvds some day. I'll be satisfied if they do follow Denny's character to the great beyond. In a way, it would be the most appropriate path so that we can see his friendship with Alan go the final mile. If that is the outcome, the thirteen episodes could all build to the titular moment. If Denny dies, I'd like episode 12 to be the funeral and episode 13 to be a wrap up. Don't cram it all in on 1 - death, funeral, see ya later deals.
