Immunity Challenge - Blade Runners
<'Headhunters' plays, as the camera shows an aerial view of a jungle clearing, and then fades out to show several posts with colored pieces of stone money hanging from them. The camera shows a close-up view of one of Malakal's purple bundles, and then cuts ahead to show Jeff>
Jeff Probst: <talking loudly> Come on in, guys! <The camera shows another wide view of the challenge area, as the eight Airai members can be seen walking in from a distance. The camera then cuts ahead to show a front view of the Fans, and focuses in on Tracy, Natalie, and Alexis, before switching angles to show the Malakal members. A wide view of both tribes is shown, as they gather into two groups on their respective mats. Jeff is then shown again>
Jeff Probst: We'll now bring in Jason and Ruth Marie returning from Exile Island. <A faraway view of Ruth Marie and Jason climbing out of a boat is shown, before the camera cuts back to their tribemates, who wave to them. Ruth Marie is then shown hugging Ian>
Ian: Oh, hey. <The camera shows Jason walking back over to the orange mat>
Jason: Did you guys miss me? <laughs> <Jason rejoins his tribemates, as the camera shows a close-up view of Erik, who shifts his expression. Another view of both tribes is then shown, before the camera goes back to Jeff>
Jeff Probst: Ready to get to it? <The camera shows a wide view of the Airai members, as they nod their heads excitedly. A close-up view of Natalie is then shown>
Natalie: Absolutely… <A rapid clip of the Favorites is shown, before the camera shows Jeff>
Jeff Probst: First things first, Ian, I'll take back the Immunity Idol. <The camera now shows a smiling Ian revealing the Immunity Idol from behind his back, as Jeff takes it from him>
Ian: Aw; we'll get him back… <A wide view of the nine Airai members is then shown, before the camera cuts ahead to show Jeff setting the Immunity Idol back down on its stand>
Jeff Probst: Once again, Immunity is back up for grabs. <There is a prominent drumbeat, as the camera focuses in on an uneasy Jason, and then turns back to Jeff>
Jeff Probst: For today's challenge, you will designate five choppers, <The camera switches angles to show the Favorites again> two rowers, <Mary, Tracy, and Mikey are now shown next> and two puzzle-builders. <A rapid clip of both Eliza and Brooke is shown> On my go, the five choppers will race, <The camera fades out to show a bundle of stone money hanging from a post> one-at-a-time, to cut through wooden beams concealing ropes, <A close-up view of a machete is now shown, as it chops into an orange beam> releasing a bundle of stone money pieces. <One of Malakal's purple bundles is shown, as it falls to the ground> When you have the bundle, <The camera shows a female castaway picking up the fallen bundle> you'll race back to your tribe; <short pause> the next person will go. <Another view of Jeff is now shown next> Once you've retrieved all five bundles, the two rowers will paddle across a lagoon <An aerial view of the beach and lagoon is shown> and hand those bundles off to the remaining two tribe members, <Tracy can be seen subtly nodding her head> who must stack those stone money pieces in the correct order on a puzzle pole <A view of the Airai tribe's puzzle half-completed is shown, as a male castaway stacks another stone money piece> with a very heavy stone base. <The camera now shows Airai's completed puzzle being dragged through the sand> You must then drag the completed puzzle across the finish line. <An overhead view of the entire challenge area is shown, as the finish line is highlighted> First tribe to finish wins Immunity; <short pause> safe from Tribal Council. <The camera returns to Jeff again> Losers, somebody voted out tonight. <A wide view of both tribes is shown, before the camera shows a close-up view of Earl, and then cuts back to Jeff>
Jeff Probst: I'll give you guys a minute to strategize; <short pause> we'll get started. <The camera shows a close-up view of the Malakal tribe's machete, and then fades into a close-up view of one of Airai's bundles of stone money. Jeff is then shown again>
Jeff Probst: <talking loudly> Here we go! <A wide view of Airai's five choppers is shown> For Immunity! <The camera now shows Jeff raising his arm> Survivors ready?! <Another rapid clip of the five Malakal choppers is shown, before Jeff lowers his arm> GO! <A side view of the challenge area is shown, as Terry and Jason can be seen grabbing the machete and racing towards the first station>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Terry first out for Malakal! <The camera shows Terry forcefully chopping at the wooden beams, before scrolling over to Jason> Jason first out for Airai! <A view of Jason is shown, as he chops through one of the beams for Airai> Straight from Exile Island… <Indistinct shouting can be heard from both tribes, as the camera switches angles to show Terry chopping through more beams for Malakal>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Terry workin' like a madman on those ropes! Attacking 'em! <The camera continues to show Terry, as he chops through the fifth wooden beam>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Once you cut through all five ropes, <The bundle of stone money can be seen dropping to the ground> you will release the bundle of stone money. <Terry picks it up, as the camera switches angles to show Jason still chopping Airai's beams>
Jason: <talking aloud> Kicked my ass… <Terry now races back to his tribemates, and hands the machete to Brooke, who begins to run forward>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Terry has his first bundle of stone money! <The camera shows Brooke quickly chopping into Malakal's second set of wooden beams> Brooke out on the course now!
Terry: Swing it in there! Come on! <Brooke chops through one of the ropes>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Jason with only rope left for Airai! <Another view of Jason is shown next, as he chops through the last rope and Airai's first bundle of stone money falls down. Jason grabs it and races back to his tribemates with it>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Mikey B heading out for Airai! <Jason passes the machete to Mikey, who runs to the second station and begins to chop through the wooden beams>
Mary: <shouting> Yeah, Mikey! <Brooke can then be seen chopping through the final rope for Malakal, as the second bundle of stone money falls down, and she picks it up>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Brooke has the second bundle for the Favorites! <Brooke can be heard saying "It's heavy," as she carries the stone money back over to her Malakal tribemates, and hands the machete off to Aras>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Aras now out on the course for the Favorites! <A clip of Mikey quickly chopping through the wooden beams for Airai is shown, as the ropes are cut and the second bundle drops to the ground>
Joel: <talking loudly> Come on, Mikey! <Mikey can now be seen picking up the bundle>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Mikey B has the second bundle for Airai! <There is a prominent sound, as the camera abruptly switches angles to show Aras chopping through Malakal's beams>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Aras wasting no time! <Aras immediately chops another rope> Ripping through these ropes! <A quick view of the other four Malakal choppers is then shown next>
Sherea: Wooh! <The camera shows the third bundle of stone money falling to the ground>
Jeff Probst: <narration> There it is! <An aerial view of the entire challenge area is shown, as Mikey can be seen handing the machete to Joel, and Aras races back to his tribemates with the third bundle. Aras is then shown handing the machete to Ian>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Malakal now with three bundles! <The camera cuts ahead to show Joel forcefully chopping into Airai's ropes> Ian and Joel out on the course! <A view of Ian is then shown, as he begins to chop through Malakal's wooden beams>
Terry: Slice it! <The camera continues to focus on Ian for a few seconds>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Both starting to work on their ropes! <Joel is then shown again, as he chops through the last rope for Airai> Joel making quick work for the Fans! <Mary shouts "Yeah, Joel!"> Going to town on those ropes! <The third bundle of stone money is shown falling, as Joel picks it up and races back to his Airai tribemates>
Mikey: Go, Natalie! <Joel hands the machete to Natalie, as she runs out onto the course>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Natalie onto the course for Airai! <Natalie is shown chopping into one of the wooden beams, before the camera switches angles to show Ian again>
Aras: <to Ian> Just keep going, man! <A wide view of both Ian and Natalie is shown next>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Ian still working through those ropes for the Favorites! Got one rope left! <A close-up view of the machete is shown, as it chops through the final beam, and the fourth bundle of stone money drops to the ground. Excited cheers can be heard, as Ian grabs the bundle and races back to his tribemates with it. He then hands the machete to Sherea>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Favorites looking for that fifth and final bundle! <A clip of Natalie chopping through the last beam is shown, as Airai's fourth bundle drops to the ground and Natalie quickly picks it up>
Jason: Come on, Natalie! <Natalie now runs back to her Airai tribemates and hands the machete to Mary, who races out onto the course>
Jeff Probst: <narration> It's Mary and Sherea! <The camera cuts back to a determined Sherea, as she frantically chops through the Malakal tribe's ropes>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Sherea working through the ropes quickly! <Sherea now chops through the final rope, as Malakal's fifth bundle of stone money drops to the ground and Sherea grabs it. Brooke is then shown clapping>
Brooke: <to Sherea> Good job, girl! <Sherea races back to her tribemates, as she drops the machete and then sets the fifth bundle down on Malakal's purple mat>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Favorites have all five bundles! <A rapid clip of Ruth Marie and Eliza is shown> Rowers, go! <Eliza can be seen lifting one of the heavy bundles into Malakal's canoe>
Eliza: <to Ruth Marie> Get 'em inside! Get 'em inside! <The camera now cuts back to the Fans, as the four choppers cheer and shout loudly>
Joel: <talking loudly> Let's go, Mary! <The camera then focuses back in on Mary>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Mary workin' on that last rope! <Mary says "One more chop," as she cuts into the last wooden beam and through the rope. The final bundle of stone money is shown falling to the ground, as the camera switches angles to show Eliza and Ruth Marie beginning to paddle out for the Favorites>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Eliza and Ruth Marie, workin' together! <A side view of the two Malakal women rowing through the lagoon is shown> Paddling very well! <The camera then cuts back to the Airai tribe, as Mary races back to her tribemates with the final bundle>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Fans, get out there! <Alexis and Kathy can be seen grabbing the bundles of stone money and loading them into the orange canoe> Gotta load up the bundles first! <A wide view of the five choppers cheering is shown, as the camera zooms in on Mary>
Mary: <shouting> Come on, girls! We still got this! <Alexis lifts the fifth bundle of stone money into the canoe, as she and Kathy begin to paddle through the lagoon>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Alexis and Kathy in the water! <An aerial view of the lagoon is now shown, as the camera shows Airai's canoe going off-course> Not going anywhere near where they need to be… <The camera now shows a close-up view of Alexis>
Alexis: Turn it around! <Another overhead view of the challenge area is shown next>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Fans all over the map! <A prominent sound is heard, as the camera cuts back to Eliza and Ruth Marie, and they arrive at the beach on the other side of the lagoon. Earl and Ami can be seen running down towards the canoe>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Favorites with a big lead now! <Ami is shown grabbing one of the heavy bundles> Ami and Earl starting to work on the puzzle! <Ami can be seen setting the first piece of stone money into place, as she points to another piece and says "That one">
Earl: <talking aloud> That's gotta go there… <The camera now switches angles to show another clip of Alexis and Kathy both paddling off-course>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Airai getting nowhere fast! <There is another prominent drumbeat, as the camera cuts back to Ami and Earl, who have made some progress on the puzzle>
Ami: <to Earl> This is not it; <short pause> it's not fitting on here. <Ami can be seen taking a piece of stone money off of the puzzle pole, as Earl looks down at it>
Earl: Is it upside down? <The camera cuts back to Kathy and Alexis, as they continue rowing>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Airai with a lot of ground to make up on the paddling! <A close-up view of Kathy is shown, as she says "Row" several times> You're still in this! <The camera then returns back to Ami and Earl> It is a long puzzle! <A close-up view of Ami is shown>
Ami: Here; <Ami sets another piece of stone money into place> here… <Earl hands the last piece of stone money to Ami, as she sets it into place at the top of the puzzle pole>
Jeff Probst: <narration> Malakal has their puzzle completed. <Earl is now shown securing the puzzle pole with a rope, as he and Ami begin to pull on it and it tips over> They just gotta drag it across the finish line! <A side view of both Malakal members is shown for a few seconds, as they struggle to pull the heavy puzzle>
Ami: We're almost there now! <The camera focuses on Earl, as he forcefully tugs the rope. The camera shows a close-up view of the puzzle, as it is finally pulled across the finish line>
Jeff Probst: <shouting> Favorites win Immunity! <'The Quest' plays, as the camera switches angles to show the joyful Malakal members cheering and hugging each other. Indistinct shouting is heard, as rapid clips of several disappointed Fans are shown. The camera then cuts ahead to show Jeff grabbing the Immunity Idol and walking over to the Malakal tribe>
Jeff Probst: Another evenly matched challenge. <Jeff can now be seen handing the Immunity Idol to Aras, who gives a quick nod of acknowledgement> This time it wasn't close; <A close-up view of Kathy is now shown, as she shakes her head> Malakal continues their winning streak… <Aras is now shown holding the Immunity Idol up, as the other Favorites reach up a hand to touch it. The camera now cuts back to Jeff>
Jeff Probst: Immunity: <short pause> nobody goin' home. <A clip of Eliza, Ruth Marie, Ian, and Terry is shown> Nobody goin' to Tribal Council. <Brooke is then shown smiling>
Jeff Probst: Fans, <Jeff pauses, as a wide view of the entire challenge area is shown> a return visit to Tribal Council; <Tracy can be seen shifting her expression> somebody else going home. <A close-up view of a sad-looking Jason is shown next> You'll have the afternoon to figure out who that's gonna be. <Both Erik and Joel are now shown listening intently, before the camera scrolls back over to Jeff>
Jeff Probst: Get your stuff; <short pause> head on back. <The camera shows the defeated Airai members walking out of the challenge area> I'll see you at Tribal. <Rapid clips of the still-celebratory Favorites hugging and cheering are then shown, as the screen fades out>
