Mets are getting two excellent starts from Vargas and Pelfrey and might end up losing both games.

Aaron "bleepin" Boone!
Mets have 3 hits, no runs, and struck out 9 times through seven innings against a pitcher who entered the game w/ a 9 ERA. It's a tie game in the 8th. Might as well bring in Heilman, Willie. |

Twisted, why is Pelfrey even batting in the bottom of the 7th? Has Willie ever heard of the pinch hit homerun?

wow....a no hitter into the 7th and now he could get the loss.... |

You do realize this is Willie you are talking about, right? It took him nearly two years to figure out how to make a double switch. Baby steps.
Poor Pelf. The guy pitches the game of his life but will probably get the loss due to this disgraceful excuse for a Mets offense. |

Because Pelfrey has a low pitch count. Pelfrey got to within 1 out of completing 8 innings.
1-0 Nats. Great back to back efforts by Pelfrey. And he could be 0-2 due to sleeping Mets bats |

Reyes leads off with a hit. Bottom 8, Nats up 1-0.
Guess what? Castillo, so called best bunter in the NL bunted into a double play. I'm not sure why Reyes was going to 3rd. |

Actually, the best thing that can happen to the Mets is if they lose this game and series to the Nats. The sooner it gets Willie out of the dugout, the better.
There is just no sense of urgency with these lifeless zombies. And the most overrated player in baseball aka Jose Reyes continues to play w/ his head up his ass. |

why change pitchers all the time. That left right thing is BS most of the time. Wouldn't you rather have your toughest guy on the mound?

Can't figure out this guy (Yost), he always seems to zig when the standard thought should be zagging ... Freud would have a field day.

And the Mets end the game with yet another double play, tying run on 3rd.

and on cue, the Cubs put up a 4 spot (thus far) in the 5th in a scoreless game...
