We only get one this week but it's not necessarily the first sung song. Brooke did "I Am...I Said" instead of "I'm A Believer."

I've spent about $6 for Brooke now. Every time her song plays on shuffle, I can't help but smile. I agree, LA's fine but it ain't home!

The studio version of IDWTMAT is lovely.
Stats from rickey's blog:
David Cook's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" is the #1 American Idol studio recording this week and is currently at #6 in all of iTunes. #6 is very high at this time of day, and I predict that "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" will reach #2 before the end of the day. "Take a Bow" by Rihanna might be too much for David Cook to overtake. David Cook's "Always Be My Baby" is #18 in all of iTunes. David Archuleta is getting a beating this morning as 8 songs by David Cook are outselling "Longer". I think Pork Chop can still catch up when the fans start buying in the day, but David Cook's head start is very impressive. C'mon Angels - don't give up!
LOL that 8 of Cook's performances are outselling the most current one by Archuleta. Ryan announced last night that the performances wouldn't be available after the finale so that probably got some people in gear. |

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best Studio versions before the songs go down?
I've got Cook's Music of the Night, Billie Jean, Eleanor Rigby, Little Sparrow, and I Don't Want to Miss a Thing. I have KLK's Forever, God Bless the USA, and Coat of Many Colors. Tell me the good ones before they are removed please! :) |

Tell me the good ones before they are removed please! :) Assuming you like the songs, of course... Michael Johns - Dream On is terrific. This, if performed, would be a highlight of the tour, played in full. David Cook - Innocent - studio version made me like the song. David Cook - Always Be My Baby - you don't have that one? Get it. Carly Smithson - Blackbird, different arrangement than the original but very pretty. Syehsa Mercado - One Rock & Roll Too Many, clean sound. Chikeze Eze - I've Just Seen A Face, you'll be singing along. David Cook - Hello. It's live, but how can you avoid it. Amanda Overmeyer - You Can't Do That, best recorded vocal she gave. Michael Johns - It's All Wrong But It's All Right, complete with false ending. David Hernandez - Papa Was A Rolling Stone - live, but great sound, you can hear him strain on the last note, but lively. Jason Castro - Fragile, Sounds like they wiped off Sting and Jason stepped in well. Yeah, I've bought a ton this year. One's to avoid (IMO) Chikeze's She's A Woman - the studio version is the original Beatles' arrangement, not the version he sang on stage. Amanda Overmeyer - Back In The USSR, I loved her but the studio vocal is atrocious. Sounded like she was reading the words a moment before singing them. Michael |

I also recommend Cook's "I'm Alive". It's fun and he sounds great.

I agree about Cook's Innocent. Did not like it live, but I love the studio version.
I have all of Cook's, bought the video of Chikezie's She's a Woman, Brooke's Let it Be, but the one I play most often is Jason's Over the Rainbow. Go figure. |

I went to itunes to catch a few songs before they take them off wed...just a reminder of how BAD this season has been. Not so much the contestants, but the
songs. They really screwed up with the lame themes. I can count on one hand the songs they did from this century (honestly, the only one I can think of is With
You *shudders*). I didn't even DL all of Jason's (Michelle is bad).

For those who still want recommendations b/c they use select websites, I'd recommend:
Nearly any of Chikezie's (I really didn't like him on the show; his studio tracks are nearly amazing and changed my opinion completely) Michael's are all great, especially "Dream On" Carly's "The Show Must Go On" and "Without You" Brooke's "Let It Be" and "Jolene" Jason's "Fragile" Syesha's "If I Was Your Woman," "One Rock n Roll Too Many," and "Vanishing" (I actually love them all, but I was a Syesha fan) David Archuleta's "Smoky Mountain Memories" and "Think of Me" David Cook's "Little Sparrow," "Always Be My Baby," "I'm Alive," "Innocent" (all that was said above is correct) |
