1) Amber 2) Aras 3) Brian 4) Chris 5) Danni 6) Earl 7) Ethan 8) Jenna 9) Parvati 10) Richard 11) Sandra 12) Tina 13) Todd 14) Tom 15) Vecepia 16) Yul |

There's a general prejudice against non Survivor viewers. Parvati in general gets a pass because she is attractive, and Yul because he is generally
intelligent in real life. With Earl, the Fiji situation is regarded as highly convoluted, but Earl is generally thought of as unable to win without a final 3.
With Aras, his demeanor is thought of as evidence that he was not a planner, when there is ample evidence that he was.

Early Game - This period is all about securing a place on the tribe and surviving.
Rich (4) - He struggled a bit early on, coming across as pretty arrogant, but he recovered and helped form the alliance. Tina (3) - Easily, this was her most difficult period, trying to fit in with Jerri's alliance and survive the early boot decisions. Ethan (5) - His alliance formed pretty early on given the tribe's early struggles, and he was definitely safe. Vecepia (3) - The tribe struggled, and she was forced to adapt after losing on the first vote, but she did help arrange for Hunter's dismissal. Brian (4) - He eliminated the person he saw as his chief tribe rival in the first vote and paid for it with a losing streak. Jenna (5) - She joined in her alliance early on, and she was safe from the boot. Sandra (2) - Fortunately for her, the tribe dominated early on, saving her from likely dismissal. Amber (5) - She secured her alliance with one Rob early and helped put the target on the other. Chris (4) - Took de facto control of his tribe following the first vote when his alliance came together. Danni (5) - Although not focused on, she was in the power core of her tribe early on. Tom (5) - He formed core relationships even before the tribes existed and maintained them through early tribal dominance. Aras (3) - He joined the main alliance during this period, but it may have been too hasty given its initial instability. Yul (4) - His tribe won the early challenges, he found the immunity idol, and he formed strong ties with Becky and Jonathan that survived the crucial first post-switch TC. Earl (3) - Due to spending a lot of time in exile, he seemed a bit of an outsider on his tribe, which was mostly chaotic, but he was generally safe. Todd (5) - He formed strong connections early, and he was completely safe. Parvati (4) - She survived early targeting mainly due to Jon's voluntary exit, but she did swing Cirie to her side in time to take control with the second vote. Late Pre-Jury - This period is all about lining up numbers for the merge. Rich (5) - His alliance took charge of his tribe and easily outmaneuvered the unorganized Pagongs. Tina (4) - Her power play with Colby reformed her tribe, allowing it to remain competitive, and astute play at the merge gave Ogakor control. Ethan (4) - His decision to throw the first post-switch immunity challenge allowed Boran to claim numbers at the merge, but the target of Clarence then was a risky move. Vecepia (2) - Powerless after the switch, numbers were secondary to survival, and she allowed her ally Rob to take the fall. Brian (5) - After finally removing tribe cancer Ghandia, he led his tribe to dominance and the advantage in numbers, helping to expose cracks in Sook Jai at the fake merge. Jenna (3) - With her alliance sundered by the switch, she tagged along with Deena's moves. The large alliance that emerged was too instable to last, leading to some ambiguity. Sandra (3) - Her tribe's decision to boot Burton led to a losing streak, but her personal situation improved as she got in good with de facto leader Rupert. The Outcast twist did give her alliance temporary advantage at the merge. Amber (4) - She mainly followed Rob's lead here, absorbing Rupert and Jenna into the tribe to improve numbers, but she was very lucky indeed that the pre-merge twist didn't finish her off. Chris (2) - He put too much trust in post-switch tribemates Julie and Twila and paid for it when the women took control at the merge. Tom (5) - The dominance continued, and the tribe only lost an outsider. He remained in the core alliance of the surviving tribe. Danni (3) - The switch put her in a bit of a disadvantage, but she dumped Blake to build a new alliance with Gary. Aras (4) - He did step up as a leader in challenges to keep Casaya in control, but he lost power within his tribe at the same time. Yul (3) - He apparently made Candice nervous enough to jump to the other tribe, but he did help bind his tribe together in unity. Earl (3) - His switch to the winning tribe allowed him to make new connections, and he bonded with Yau Man, but he was most helped by implosion among the opposition. Todd (5) - He reacted to the switch by absorbing the new members and arranged to keep key ally James safe on the other tribe, leading to a strong position at the merge. Parvati (3) - She survived post-switch mainly because her tribe kept on winning and because of injury withdrawals decimating her opponents. Early Jury Phase - This period is about strengthening position for the endgame while alienating as few jurors as possible. Rich (4) - He kept his alliance together, piggybacking on Sean's votes to maintain a majority. Tina (5) - She cut off ally Colby's options by taking out Jerri and Amber while she could, using that boot to curry favor with Kucha voters and head off any overthrow. Ethan (3) - He allowed Lex to almost give up the numbers advantage by booting Kelly and was lucky in booting Brandon to correct the problem. Vecepia (4) - She reversed course and joined in the overthrow of the Rotu 4 and helped hold the improbable alliance together long enough to vote them all out. Brian (4) - He anticipated and cut off any Sook Jai attempts to undermine his alliance. Jenna (2) - She dumped one ally for another, but in the process, the core alliance was exposed and then overthrown. While she pouted about it, she was lucky that the counter alliance culled itself of Christy next. Sandra (2) - She and her allies got a bit too cocky, culminating in Rupert's overthrow, but she did recover enough to get out Tijuana to buy herself some time. Amber (4) - She allowed Rob to take the lead as her alliance cut down those on its outside. Chris (2) - He watched his allies all get voted out and then became a pawn as the opposing alliance imploded upon itself. Tom (5) - His alliance culled the outsiders and then headed off a potential threat from Gregg with an assist from Ian. Danni (3) - She watched her allies all get voted out, but immunity allowed her to start a crack in the dominant alliance. Aras (3) - His alliance voted out the other tribe, but his inability to beat Terry put him in danger throughout the period due to the immunity idol and his lack of control of the vote. He was saved at the crucial vote by Cirie's strategizing. Yul (5) - He brilliantly used the immunity idol to recover numbers and vote out the formerly dominant tribe, sacrificing Jonathan and taking credit to win Raro votes. Earl (4) - He returned to his early alliance with Dreamz and Cassandra, took advantage of opposition errors to seize the numbers, and led the removal of the opposition players though Yau Man was responsible for his own survival when the other players tried to blindside him. Todd (4) - He seemed to have less control over this period as his alliance culled itself down in between voting out opposition players, but he remained safe throughout. Parvati (5) - She used her ties to the now outnumbered fans to expand her options and enabled a blindside of Ozzy. She headed off obstacles to her advancement by getting allies to dump their other options and by helping Amanda make use of the immunity idol to gain control of the endgame. Late Jury Phase (Endgame) - This period is about making it into the finals with as little animosity as possible. Rich (4) - He was vulnerable here, particularly at the F4, but his stepdown at F3 was utter brilliance, allowing him to remove Rudy while keeping his hands clean. Tina (5) - This is where her manipulation of Colby paid off dividends, getting him to dump the sure victory against Keith. Her handling of Elisabeth was impressive as well. Ethan (3) - The best that can be said about his endgame was that his relationship with Kim set up her actions that gave him the edge at the end. Vecepia (5) - She went to work, setting up Sean to be targeted before her, taking notes to prepare for the predictable immunity and forcing Kathy to vote with her, and cutting Kathy off to insure her entry to the finals. Brian (4) - He cut off his extraneous options as he breezed into the finals. The only downside was the potential for blowback in the finals. Jenna (3) - She was toast without her immunities, but she did win them, allowing her into the finals with relatively clean hands. Sandra (4) - She finally stepped up in this stage, helping steer the vote against Burton and being willing to cut off Darrah. At the end, she was just lucky Lillian didn't want Jon to win. Amber (5) - Her relationship with Rob allowed her to sit back while he did the dirty work, but her one immunity victory insured Rupert's demise, preventing a tiebreaker situation. Chris (4) - Immunity down the stretch allowed him to seize control of the game and pick his opponent for the finals. He overplayed a bit in the harshness of his play towards Julie and Eliza. Danni (4) - She wormed her way into Rafe's good graces, causing him to blow up his own game, and her win at F3 got her to the end. Tom (3) - He won his way into the finals with immunity, breaking Ian in the process and likely picking up Jenn's vote by helping her force the tie at F4. Aras (4) - While Cirie clearly had his number, he did great at manipulating Danielle. He won the crucial immunity he needed and was lucky Cirie lost the F4 tiebreaker and Terry lost the final immunity. Yul (5) - The bond he established with his alliance kept anyone from breaking when Adam offered assistance, and the honorable tiebreak at F4 when he could have insured Becky's survival kept his image intact. The immunity idol meant he was never in real danger. Earl (4) - He mainly completed the removal of the stragglers to his core alliance, and he took advantage of Dreamz backtracking on his promise to vote out his biggest challenger in Yau Man. Todd (4) - The last outsiders and hangers on were voted out, but his main contribution to this was seeming like someone who was beatable. Parvati (5) - She sat back and watched as the others competed to go to the finals with her since she seemed beatable. Final TC - This period is obviously about winning the final vote. Rich (4)- He mainly just had to keep the votes he had going in, but he argued well enough to do so. Tina (4) - She gave a pretty good account of herself, deflecting anger and giving the jurors what they wanted. Ethan (2) - The outcome was never in doubt so perhaps he can be forgiven for a lackluster effort that cost him at least one vote. Vecepia (3) - In relative terms, she was much better than Neleh, but the jury wasn't exactly swayed by what she said. Brian (2) - In the end, he held onto the votes he needed, but he was pretty bad in trying to defend himself. Jenna (4) - The pageant winner put her experience into practice, but she won mainly because Matt was terrible. Sandra (2) - Here's another winner who did little to justify the win in front of the jury. Amber (3) - She mainly got to watch as the jury unloaded on her opponent, but her mention of luck was placed to placate Alicia. Chris (5) - He may have done his best work encouraging Twila to be combative, but he did give the jury what they wanted to hear. Tom (3) - His performance wasn't that exciting, but the outcome wasn't really in doubt either. Danni (3) - She was just OK, but that jury wasn't voting for Stephenie anyway. Aras (4) - He gave an average performance where the votes were pretty much already decided. Yul (3) - He did OK, but Ozzy's emotional responses almost cost him the win. Earl (4) - He was calm, cool, and collected, and got a front row seat to the bashing of his two opponents. Todd (5) - He took credit for his moves and gave Jean Robert the answer he was looking for. It helped that Amanda was awful and that Courtney just hadn't really played. Parvati (4) - She handled herself competently, but again it was Amanda handling herself poorly that sealed this win. Totals Rich 21 Tina 21 Ethan 17 Vecepia 17 Brian 19 Jenna 17 Sandra 13 Amber 21 Chris 17 Tom 21 Danni 18 Aras 18 Yul 20 Earl 18 Todd 23 Parvati 21 I separated this rating system out as something new, and I have to say I'm a bit surprised at the results. I would not have expected Todd to get the highest score, nor for Amber and Parvati to tie for the second highest with Rich, Tina, and Tom. Sandra clearly rates a lot lower than most other winners doing things this way. |

Dr Will Hatch two point oh wrote: I rated Aras pretty well. I think the real bias is against players viewed as "generic" (in other words, all fit attractive young people are the same) as they aren't considered cerebral players. Aras, Parvati, Ethan, Jenna...all are more likely to have their games scrutinized. "How did they do that? It must've been because of some factor other than outwitting outplaying and outlasting!" Sucksters are more likely to buy into the self-promotion of players like Todd or Kenny, for example, regardless of their blatant mistakes and incredible luck. Whereas at TWoP, all you have to do is be as bland as possible (Yul, Earl, Tom) and win with "integrity", and you're the best mastermind everrr. |

Katy Carney wrote:Please explain. Todd put himself in danger which could have sent himself home by not voting for PG during James boot. When has Ken done anything close to that? People need to watch this next episode before they say Ken fucked himself over by voting for Matty. If it's a nonissue, then he gained two jury votes. And if you are talking about GC or Kelly leaving, that's GC and Matty's fault respectively. You can't blame Ken for that. |
