I doubt it, he's been saying he really wants to win. Given his style I don't know if it's in his best interest to win (given how they'll fuck up his album), but anyone's better than Archie at this point. I just want Archie to lose.

He looks awkward and well out of place during those performances. Otherwise, he does seem to me like he cares about winning it. He doesn't seem to be coasting to me.

At final 3 "favorites" to win have been booted before. Syesha also had a better night per many message board reviews. BUT - kids are his audience. They don't post that night, I bet - they're too busy phoning up to vote, then it's off to bed. Little kids' lives are more structured than adults, so they don't get a chance to go online and yap the way we do. It's hard to gauge the numbers. But it looks like he does appeal to kids, so it's completely alien to us, really. Let's recall that many of the top 10 can find a career in music if they really want it. Being #1 isn't a guarantee of success any more than being #8 signifies certain failure. This year it's possible that the Idol will be for the teenybopper market, for once. Pukey, but ... meh who cares?

My eyes rolled into the back of my skull but that's just me. I loved seeing MJ in the audience for all of 5 seconds! It was the best 5 seconds of the show!

And neither being the best? And if they lower the age even further? What would be the point of watching for anyone who is an adult? Of course, I would still have my life if I never watched again, so it really isn't that big a deal. :) But they WOULD have to change the name of the show to "American Tween Dream" or "American Tiger Beat(s Off)" or "Telegaspers" or something.

If David Archuleta wins American Idol I will never watch the show again. People have been saying that since Clay versus Ruben. If you've watched this many seasons, you'll watch another. This is the first season I've seen since season four. That was Carrie and Bo, right?

If Cook takes it, that will be good because he deserves it. If Archie takes it, that will be good because Archie is the Idol TPTB deserve, and may he tank hard.
