What do Romber fans think of the Couples Alliance in S16?
There are a lot of parallels between them and the ASS F4. They are outsiders to the Survivor alumni fraternity. James\Amandas have the same disadvatge as Rupert is not having the chance to make alumi friends. |

The couples alliance looks very powerful at this point. Once Cirie joined their group, they have dominated the boot strategy on Malakal, though the switch and Jonathan's exit puts half of the couples alliance in danger. Will Ozmanda or Jamvati reach the heights of Romber ? Nope. Romber was "the perfect storm". |

The Survivor alumni fraternity is overrated. Its so big at this point, I doubt there's much buzz meeting people from different seasons. I have a tough time even remembering the complete cast from the Cooks-Fiji-China era of Survivor, the worst block of seasons this show has ever seen. It is just another reality show at this point. Rob said before ASS, people were friendly because they were eying alliances in case there was an All Star season and it was easy to guess most of the players who'd get an invite. Lex certainly was banking on personal relationships, which is why he had no qualms in weakening Mogo Mogo (Joel really did mirror Lex, doing the same thing in Half-ASS, yet he didn't have the connections, so he was even a bigger fool). Kathy claimed to Rob that they were always going to give him a spot in the final four. I doubt it. Lex was all about taking out the competition so he could run the immunities. Rob got Lex before he could get him. After ASS, there was no reason to play the connections game, so all that was left was what people really thought of each other. Ozzy and Amanda are still together. Parv and James just looks like an equal opportunity partnership, but not a real relationship. They had some lucky breaks. Fairplay would have sided against the couples. He said so in his posts on Sucks. Romber took control of Chapera fairly easily. |
