Ew...what would be the duet song for Davefest next week? I can't think of any song that Davil and Cook would sing together..She's a little bit country, he's a little bit rock-n-roll (OK, maybe I'm dating myself here -- it's an old Donnie and Marie song, so it has the LDS seal of approval). |

Even Archuleta knows Cook owns him:
Archuleta advances to the grand finale of 'American Idol'
Article Last Updated: 05/14/2008 09:18:05 PM MDT
Posted: 9:13 PM- Even "American Idol's" singing prodigy, David Archuleta, wasn't sure about whether
he sang well enough to make it to the grand finale of television's most-watched program.
Right after he sang in Tuesday night's episode - in which two of the three judges heaped him with glowing praise - the 17-year-old Murray teen sent a text to his friend Adam Ruben with sneaking doubts. "My songs are all boring, FYI. Ha, ha," David texted his friend. "[Contestant, David] Cook dominated entirely and was amazing. But I'm glad they didn't criticize my singing." Despite his reservations, David needn't worry. The shy
He'll compete against Cook, the bed-headed rocker from Blue Springs, Mo., in the finale next week. "He was at my house one day, and I remember telling him, 'David, you're music will go throughout all the world," said family friend Brett Hales, who also once was David's LDS bishop. "I believed those words, but it's become so surreal now. Now I look at it and think, 'Whoa, it really happened.'" It's been a nine-month musical journey for the teen as he Not that David is a novice to the television singing competition biz. The teen also competed in - and won - another TV talent contest, CBS' now-defunct "Star Search," when he was just 12. "He has always been so involved in music, and it's his first passion," said family friend Darleen Moller, who also is the PTA president for Murray High School, where David is a junior. Avid watchers of the show say it's too close to call the winner of what has now been dubbed, "The Battle of the Davids." But judge Randy Jackson was convinced after Tuesday's performance that David A. is "in it to win it." Fans will know for certain when the seventh-season "American Idol" is crowned next week. "He will be more surprised than anyone if he wins this thing," said friend Ruben, "because every week he's always prepared to go home." IMO the bolded text message speaks volumes. I think it shows that he is just a nice kid but he's being controlled by his stage dad. He likes and respects his competitor and quite possibly has been genuinely worried each week about not making it. His father imo has ruined this for him, well and his fangirls have ruined it for others. |

it's going to SUCK so badly if he wins. and i can't shake this terrible, nagging feeling that he will? too many tweentards to overcome. the videos
were overwhelming and he looks so happy to be in the ford commercials and group performance that he attracts more and more IDIOTS who will vote like fiends
next week. i will still power vote like never before, but ugh - it's going to SUCK ...

I wonder if TPTB realize that the number of votes he gets is probably 40 times greater than his actual fan base. His fans are crazy and over-zealous tards,
power-voting like fiends on Tuesday nights. This makes him seem way more popular than he actually is. If he wins, these tards won't be buying or
downloading his songs 30 times in a row... they're in for a rude awakening.

If those idiot producers would limit the voting it WOULD give a better idea of who is popular, but then they wouldn't be able to brag that "56 million
of you voted" (huge eyeroll here).
Star Search limited the votes to 5 per phone, I think it was, and it worked just fine.

I was going to say it makes the show look pretty silly when a non-winner sells more than the winner (Aiken, Daughtry) but perhaps they really don't give a
rat's patootie.
