Youtube for anyone who didn't catch it... He's very funny in the interview (which is somehow after the performances?)... and his voice sounds
really good on the performance.

I just went looking and saw you had already found it!
ETA: Hmmm, some parts were cut out of the YouTube, since his whole thing was almost 10 minutes, but at least you get the gist. Yeah, he actually sang after the interview.

Yeah, he actually sang after the interview. That's not unusual for Tonight Show is it? Admittedly I haven't watched the Tonight Show in years because I can't stand that half moon face but I seem to recall that the guests performed after their interviews. |

No, I think it can go either way, Rene. I was just referring to ILGE's comment about him singing first on the YouTube clip.
ETA: To clarify, yes, I think on Leno they usually sing last. I remember him singing first on Letterman once, and then being interviewed. |

the only reason it seemed off in the clip is that after he sang Jay came over with Jack Black and thanked his guests and the show was clearly over... then it
cut to Clay being interviewed...
I figured some had gotten cut off cuz Clay was in the middle of talking about something when the video ended.... but yeah you can get the gist of it... Clay's pretty funny when he talks about Justin Timberlake.. I laughed at his "when you got all this (motions to body) going on, how can you not be super confident" |

I thought that was really cute, too, ILGE. And I love the raspberries to his old drama teacher, too.

I have continued listening to the new CD. And for what it's worth, I think Clay may be back. The songs are really growing on me and I must compliment him
on his vocal performance. Something About Us is perfection. It sounds like it could have been recorded back in the Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole days and I
think it could be a song that can stand the test of time. If the public get the chance to hear it. I also really like Where I Draw The Line. It just has a
good flow to me. So the ones I like so far:
Ashes (radio-friendly) Everything I Don't Need (very radio-friendly) Something About Us (this could be a classic) Falling (radio-friendly) Where I Draw the Line (radio-friendly) Sacrificial Love (reminds me of something that could be played in a Disney movie.) I guess I will be buying the cd. |

Coming from someone who never liked anything Clay sang before, I'd say that's kind of a triumph for Clay. Thanks for being honest and sharing your
thoughts, Krysten.

krystenB wrote: Those are pretty much all my favorites but I also really like Grace of God and Lover All Alone. Something About Us needs to be on a movie soundtrack as it
would become an all time classic love song. The WalMart cd has a bonus that, IMO, is one of the best ballads on the cd, Forget I Ever Knew You. It's up
at Greg Critchley's MySpace.

Forget I ever knew you is a beautiful song... and Tara Macri sings is beautifully... thanks for the Myspace Kathy... Clay's is a bit overdone IMO... the
song needs something more contemplative and restrained vocally IMO... that said, on the actual album there are at least 5 or 6 songs that I think are
fanfuckingtastic!

Coming from someone who never liked anything Clay sang before, I'd say that's kind of a triumph for Clay. That's not true. I actually bought Clay's first cd. But I must admit that I grew tired really fast. I probably wouldn't have even bought it if it wasn't Clay's voice. I have even seen him in concert a couple of times (because I took my mom.) I don't think I ever said he couldn't sing. Just that he glory notes too much but it seems like he toned it down a little on this cd. |

^^ I stand corrected, Krysten. : ))
There's a new video up at Yahoo.com for OMWH. I think the fans have made much better ones, but I guess something is better than nothing. http://new.music.yahoo.com/videos/ClayAiken/On-My-Way-Here--60221901;_ylt=At4CM5geFh3CWFGR9CagRUzesyUv Looks like Madonna's prediction fell far short, and Clay is actually fourth (but virtually tied for third anyway). From Billboard ETA: Clay was on Good Day, LA this morning, and Jillian and Dorothy were actuallly nice to him. I didn't watch it because they're such two-faced beyotches, but I went ahead and watched it online after I heard what a great interview it was. Loved it! I don't know if this link will take you right to the interview or not, but it did when I did it. http://media.myfoxla.com/live/ ETA: Found a better link: http://www.myfoxla.com/myfox/pages/InsideFox/Detail?contentId=6538383&version=2&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=5.2.1

Something isn't quite right in these reports. The one above is from MTV and it says Madonna came in behind Clay Aiken but that Clay was behind Madonna by 100 CDs. Huh? Yahoo reports a much higher number. What gives? The season two runner-up sold 106,000 copies of On My Way Here at No. 4. While he's released two cover albums |

Good grief, it sounds like complete morons wrote those. Mathematically challenged, at the very least. ::eyeroll::

From Ken Barnes
Clay's new album, On My Way Here, makes its debut on the Billboard album chart at No. 4, selling 94,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. In a somewhat healthier sales climate, his last album, the covers package A Thousand Different Ways, sold 211,000 its first week in late 2006, entering the chart at No. 2. Even with that head start, it's only a little above half a million now; with a smaller beginning, OMWH will need some added stimulus (hit single would be helpful) to match that total.
