Thanks, Sofa. I was actually picking up on that the last couple of pages. I'm quick like that.
How did Manuel get his job back? What happened to the ass hole who had it? What were the details of Joe getting hosed? |

I'm glad Joe got the quarter million and that he's getting a new job. At least the part about getting suckered by Meghan is consistent with the
stuggles and knockdowns the DuBois family encounters. I just hope making Roseanne, er I mean Alison and her family a little richer isn't a jump the shark
moment.
I liked that this season was a little less routine, with the family struggling, needing to borrow money from Joe's mom, Alison having to work for Cynthia Keener, etc. Much less formulaic than Devalos asking Alison for help and Scanlon calling to say "your clue helped us solve it." |

I hope they double the dead baby count next season
You know, on L&O SVU they have unspeakable acts of violence against women, there must be a fucked up writer on that show too. House has had child victims several times, there must be a fucked up writer on that show too. I'm pretty sure some kid was killed/maimed by a land mine on M*A*S*H once, there must have been a fucked up writer on that show too. I will take back my "quit bitching" comment....cos 1. this is sucks, and 2. I have done my fair share of bitching about other stuff. |

I thought last night's episode was a bit satisfying, as there was some closure on alot of things (such as Joe finally getting back on his feet, and Devalos
getting his D.A. Job back). but I also thought it was a little disappointing as they made it look too easy (the other D.A. having terminal cancer, and this
rich guy who was developing something similar to what Joe was doing was all of a sudden liking what Joe was doing even more).
I don't know, maybe next season they can bring Kelly Preson's character back so that she could find out that Joe had the final laugh. Although that probably wouldn't happen. It's not in Joe's character to shove something like that in some one's face. Maybe he'll just mention it in passing if he ever bumps into her. |

Well, I guess I'm the odd one out - not that that's an unusual thing for me. The show just didn't seem right to me. I think it's really
strange that a man with Joe's schooling and intelligence, who is married to a psychic, doesn't think to consult a lawyer upon the dissolution of a
company especially when the buyout is border line hostile. Even me and hubby would manage to find a way to get legal counsel when there's a contract
involved. Instead, Joe just decides that Megan/Meagan/Meaghan (was that her name?) must be on the up and up (even though she's come on to him and he
thinks she's nutso) and just signs whatever papers she provides? Joe and Alison aren't stupid people; why would they do something so careless?
Anyway, that's my bitch about the show. And to whomever pointed out that this felt like a series finale and not just a season finale, you may be right. I hadn't thought about that until you pointed it out. Does anyone know for sure if the show has been picked up? |

That was me. Yes, it's 100% confirmed for a new season, but not until January. However, NBC's been wiggy with their upfronts this year, so despite
the initial confirmation, I remain a little nervous.
My view is that they're leaving us on a happy note until then instead of the long offseason cliffhanger from the end of last season. Nice of them if so, and I do think that's what's actually going on. The lawyer: don't forget that Joe got told by his lawyer after the hostage crisis shooting that he couldn't prevail in a trial because now that Ali is publically known as a psychic, his credibility would also be cross-examined. Had he fought Megan, it would've gone to trial, I suppose, and I don't put a chick like her in the category of somehow not knowing that. Besides, from his perspective, the $250K wasn't a bad deal. And after all, he had knowingly signed off on giving her 51%. I gave the writers a pass on that sequence. |

Piranhahaha wrote: Well said, P'ha. I agree totally. Also, lawyers cost money and at that stage they were struggling to literally put food on the table, gas in the car
and the utilities turned on. Not to forget money for the mortgage and the kids' odds & ends. There just wasn't an extra dime, never mind $200 or
whatever. Lawyers who charge $300-400 an hour and you're looking at however long it might take to read the agreement and do some research to tell him he
doesn't have a winnable case.

That's what I thought too. He was basically told no one would ever take him seriously in court so....anyway I thought this was a great ep and burst out
laughing at the car sex in the end. Love that family. I truly hope it does come back.
Oh and Atlanta? You can watch all the eps on nbc.com. |

Even though the Joe-has-no-cred-because-his-wife-is-a-psychic point is a stretch, I thought it was ridiculous the way Joe approached the dissolutionn, especially since he knew the bitch was crazy (she suggested that he was violent against her after her advances). I thought he'd at least get Alison to see if Davalos could help him out (a backup plan, refer him to a sympathetic lawyer, advice or something). I loved the dream sequence of him pumping the bitch full of lead. That said, I don't think the fact that children are often victims of violent crimes on this show is ridiculous or gratuitous. It's reality and given that the protagonist of this show isn't some ass-kicking, male supercop, but a mother of 3, so it fits. I also thought that on this past episode, the writers toned it down in that they showed you the drowning from the point of view of the child, instead of showing a child actor getting "drowned" by the actress. FWIW, this had nothing on the season 4 episode where the dead kid showed up in one of the boxes like a doll. That actually made me gasp. |

The boy in the doll box still freaks me out when I think of it. That was disturbing.
