And didn't Frosti say that his vote for Todd was because the two were good friends out there as opposed to him feeling betrayed by Courtney?

The thing is, with that jury performance, Amanda would have lost to Courtney anyway. End of story. (She had all the right arguments to make but didn't make
any, for crying out loud)
Although watching Denise beg for votes would have been fun. |

Well we don't know if Amanda would've taken more credit in her final tribal council performance if Todd wasn't there, but woulda, coulda,
shoulda...
But we should be happy that Courtney didn't win, or else she wouldn't have gotten that edit, and we would've missed the sarcastic wit that makes everyone love her. |

I asked Frosti in another thread why he voted for todd and he said because todd deserved it. I think he would have voted for courtney next because he said in
an interview that he never even noticed amanda when he was out there. she would disappear. Jaime was originally going to vote for courtney but changed to todd
after hearing his answers.

Amanda just couldn't break free from her pageant experience. She didn't seem to get that Survivor juries want real answers, not "right" answers. At least not the two juries she lost with. |

While I do think that Amanda wasn't given enough credit for her moves in the game. I think part of her problem is she tried to copy some of Todd's jury
speech at times and she doesn't have the delivery of Todd.

1. She's too passive
2. She has a vapid or superficial 'girl next door personality' that make other women (eg. Peih-Gee, Alexis, Natalie, Eliza) not want to lose to her. Over 2 seasons, not a single woman voted for her to win. 3. She doesn't have the toughness for the game. She can't lie or vote people out without feeling guilty which made her come off as apologetic in China. |

Do you mean as in pretending to be the girl next door (sweet, nice, etc)? Not everyone has the same kind of personality that Parvati does. Not everyone has an
out going personality. I think Parvati played a good game though. I was happy with this final 4 compared to others. I certainly thought that they all deserved
to be there compared to a lot of other people that made the final 4.

sunflower101 wrote: No I don't think that she is pretending. Her problem is similar to Neleh's combined with Jenna Morasca She comes from a very sparsely populated part of the US and she is not very cosmopolitan and sophisticated plus the pagaent background doesn't help either and she didn't go to college. The women don't want to lose to someone that they think may not be very smart or worldly and comes off as too innocent. Like Neleh you can't come off as innocent when you are playing Survivor as people may not buy it. |

Parvati on why Amanda lost it twice.
Q: Amanda has gotten to the number two spot twice now. What is it about her that she can't close the deal? How come she goes so far but falls apart at the end? A: I think what Amanda doesn't realize, what she doesn't portray in her final speech, is that she actually did play the game, and she didn't own up to the moves that she made, and how she played the game, she kind of skirted around the issue, and the jury wanted honest answers, and someone who was going to stand their ground. When you vote someone out, they want you to be like-"Yeah you got me, but admit it, and you're a good strategist, so I'll give you my vote." |

Well, if you combine the descriptions jurors gave her for the last 2 seasons, she walks around like a doe-eyed zombie. Now I'm going to have to re-watch
Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Chopping Mall, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers to see if any of the zombies are doe-eyed.

I think the key to the mystery is that in both seasons she made it to the end on the back of her alliances - her cliques. She's the archetypal cliquey
girl, probably has been at school and all her life.
So, although she has no qualms about strategizing against others to advance the interests of her own clique (in fact, she's quite adept at doing so), she goes to pieces at the end, when the time comes to turn on her own clique/alliance members. It's no coincidence that both seasons her melt-down began at the exact F4 tribal council stage when the time came to turn against her own. The emotional trauma, the +%+#* and the guilt she feels about 'betraying' her clique then spill over to the final TC where she struggles with her guilt in her answers to the jury. Ironically, she would have been much more composed had the F3 format been retained. Then it wouldn't have been necessary to turn on Cirie and she could have been able to honestly tell the jury that she was happy to take the credit for all of her moves. |
