I would have been happy with any of those four winning and I'm happy for her. Ozzy was a total idiot at the final TC. I always felt he was the most overrated survivor ever, an athletic one-trick pony, and his jury performance was so pathetic it might have driven me to vote for Parvati by itself. I mean, how DARE Parvati actually try to win the game. I respect any juror's right to be bitter and vote for or against anyone. However, if he really wanted to help Amanda, that wasn't the way to do it. He can't even strategize his way out of a wet paper bag as a juror. However, that was the game, and I wish him well in real life. Glad he had the maturity to get over it though. I'm glad we are back to a final 2. It makes for a stronger game. Girl's gotta work on not looking like a clod of dirt. The REAL reason Parvati beat Amanda is that Amanda is an INTROVERT while Parv is an EXTROVERT. MB rigs the cast with Extroverts, cuz they're supposedly more FUN TV. Parvarti is an OVERT clueless bimbo, while everyone just decides Amanda is the SAME. What I really LOVE about SURVIVOR, what separates it from all the other CRAP Reality Shows, is the DEEP CHARACTER STUDIES it does on certain contestants. Rich, Rudy, Kelly and Sue on S1. PERFECT. Tina, Colby, Keith, Liz and Rodger. HELEN on S5. CHRISTY on S6. And Amanda on "Fans V Favorites." Getting to feel like I REALLY KNOW Amanda Kimmel. That's worth WAY MORE than Twists or Blindsides. THAT'S what makes me tune in Season after Season, long after the novelty has GONE.

She didn't have to worry about Parvati throwing her under the bus. Amanda threw herself under the bus by making Parvati look good. Amanda seems like a genuinely wonderful person. However, the qualities make someone a good person and a good friend aren't necessarily useful in a game like Survivor. In Survivor and Amazing Race and Big Brother, it's pretty amazing how the one returnee everyone is surprised to be cast always seems to win.

She makes Neleh look like Chris Daugherty by comparison. If one group of jurors called her superficial and pageant, maybe it's just a fluke. But when two groups of contestants say you're fake and pageant, it's probably true. I'm sure she's a nice girl, but she is probably the worst "clutch" player in Survivor history, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory twice in a row. I think she believes she can use the same canned responses to win Survivor that she uses to win beauty pageants. I guess the doe-eyed looks and pouty faces go over better on the pageant circuit than they do with a Survivor jury.

THAT'S what makes me tune in Season after Season, long after the novelty has GONE. That's pretty insightful. I think the original formula from the first season would work over and over again. It's all about the people. Cast great, interesting people, not mactors and models, and the season will be great! I'm sorry, but Amanda's final tribal council performances are the worst I've ever seen. She makes Neleh look like Chris Daugherty by comparison. I can't argue with that. You can still have the character studies (China!) with the format. It makes the finals easier to get to but harder to win.

A final 3 also makes it harder for the audience fave, juror fave, obvious choice winner like Rob C. and Kathy to get booted by their opponents. The game is trickier and more advanced with a final 2. I hope they keep it (but with an odd number of jurors so there is no chance of a tie). I'm really glad that Probst pointed out that Tracy was underrated. I agree. Every season there is one or two people who just get screwed by the numbers and cannot save themselves. Tracy did a great job keeping the island-of-misfit-toys alliance in the game. On another season, if she had made the merge, she could have been a contender. If they ever did a second-chance season where they cast people who went pre-jury who really deserved a second chance, she'd be one of my choices.

At some level it is going to be sad when Survivor finally ends. I hope when it goes, it goes out with a great season, and not a whimper. I really like James personally. (Who doesn't?). I do wish the $100,000 had gone to Amanda, Cirie or Natalie, one of the other worthy winners of the season. James is utterly likeable, but he's not really great at the game. Liberal arts course also help you maershall an argument. Jury performance is one part of Survivor that going to university would help. Other parts of the game, not so much. Primarily, how Parvarti SAT ON HER ASS on Exile , working on her TAN, while Amanda, Cirie and Natalie concocted Erik's DEMISE. Each of them proved in their own way, how they deserved to WIN over Parv on that last episode. Don't forget how Parvati stood there for 6+ hours to prevent Jason from winning immunity, while Cirie quit for gummi worms and Amanda had to pee. Parv had no leverage to manipulate Erik (only met him at the merge), and was a good sport about agreeing to be exiled as her part in the plan. Parv arguably set the whole thing up when persuaded Amanda to target Alexis the previos epsiode. This was a surprisingly fun season. Lots of backstabbing/blindsiding/entertaining things going on. Bummer that this is the long off-season, but I'm looking forward to seeing everybody back for Gabon. Sandra over Lillian. Danni over Steph. Parv over Amanda??? It is interesting that Alpha women don't really win in front of the jury, starting with Kelly-S1. I think it's innacccurate description of Sandra, Vee and Parvati's game to label it as "coasting". Vee and Sandra were able to adapt on a dime, Danni and Parvati played their hearts out in the social aspect of the game. Who you are in this game seems to matter more than what you do, and "fakeness" or perceived fakeness (because I think Amanda was pretty genuine), will doom you in front of the jury every time. I think Stephanie and Lil were both doomed by the fact that they got a second chance at the game (and Danni and Sandra played the social game SO much better.) Neleh and Amanda have the most parallels. Both were truly, utterly awful in front of the jury. Both were at least perceived as insincere by a majority of their juries. Even starting with Kelly in S1, the finalist who is seen as duplicitous and two-faced loses to the one who is known to be an out and out schemer and scoundrel. The difference in all of these cases is that the winner played a better social game. After 16 seasons, it really seems to be about the underlying social game. All the swaps, merges, etc are just sound and fury if people stick tight to their original companions throughout. Unfortunately, I think part of what made people flexible this season was the fan's crushes - they were all more than willing to ditch their original teammates for an alliances with a fave. Obviously, with the returnees, this season had a lot of strong players (not physically strong, but strong at going far in Survivor). Which means some pretty strong players lost, people who might could have won against a weaker field. But with a stronger field, that means everyone has more to work with, more assets available for planning, more possibilities for alliances or strategies, which makes a more interesting season for all of us to watch.
