I'm pretty sure the F3 will be back considering Cirie lost becuase there was a F2.

Oh, you bet I respect her game, and that's why Eliza voted for her. Parv was a near-perfect CPN winner. People may not have liked her, but damn - she
played the game. She's a player, and that's what gets respect. She was also perhaps the best gangbuster female winner. No wondering about UTR
playing, no sliding by. She was tough and mean and reveled in it.
So would SEG give us a strong CPN female winner? Yep. Do I like her? No, not really, but so what? You're not supposed to like those sorts of winners. But you know why you won and you come away from the finale thinking, "I don't like her, but damn - she has game." (I loved that little zing Oz gave Jeff when JP asked about the romance with Amanda: "Oh, you know how those Survivor girls are, Jeff..." Wow. Right between the eyes on that one.) |

This was also a victory for Survivor. The show needed a strong, aggressive female mastermind winner after 16 seasons. Tina and Vecepia don't count,
sorry. Too nice.
This season showed that women can play the game as aggressively as a man...and win. They don't have to ride coattails or hide behind a tree for 39 days. |

Give me a scheming, backstabbing, cut throat, hardcore player over an UTR coat tail rider any day. Yeah Parvati isn't someone I would identify with in real life, but in this game, she ran the show. I respect that more than a winner who was nice, moral, and seems like someone I would be friends with in real life, yet they got the million because of a sour grapes jury. So really, the editors have to appeal to multiple demographics. Give us wholesome, upbeat, likeable winners like Earl and Sandra. Give us crafty and controversial winners like Parvati and Brian. As long as we never see another bland, empty, Danni-like win again, I think most of us would be happy with that, at least.Kudos to Edgic this season. You stuck to your guns and weren't swayed, even when the end of the season made most of us doubt. This season really affirms that Edgic can work, even when the winner isn't spoiled outright. You make some of us wonder sometimes (Amanda), but a lot of the time, you peg the winner very early and roll with it to the end, despite all objections. Thanks for giving me something interesting to read. |

I also think they made Cirie a bit less likeable than she was edited last time, but I don't know if that was because they wanted to make Parvati look
better by comparison, or just a function of the game Cirie played this time around.

I still think Parvati is one of the least negative of the villain winners. Some people seem to be predisposed to dislike Parvati being a young cute female
willing to use her feminine charms to get ahead. Aside from the flirty moves, she really wasn't all that negative. She was smart, she was committed, and
she was very strategic. I think she gets a bad rap because she is a woman making those moves.

They even replayed Parvati and Alexis' complete opening confessionals as a way of explaining the season. Oka-a-yy... so, from here on we should just watch
the first segment of the first episode and then go find a nice video game to wile away the time until the Finale. Lol.
Personally, I like Parvati. I think she was pretty straight up about what she needed to do to win. It was simple. If she was loyal to the couples' F-4, she would never have won. Oh, and pee water, pee water, pee water. Great Edgic season everybody! Next season I will try again to listen to my own advice. |

Once again, awesome job to all of us here that stuck with Parvati the whole time. And congratulations to Parvati herself. It was a fan's dream come true
to root for her throughout the season as both an Edgician and a fan of hers from the very beginning (and since Cooks)! Parvati still remains in my top 5 of
all-time.
And I agree, ProbstFan. A victory for Survivor as well. Nice of Parvati to play the same game as Todd & Brian and get the same reward for it!

Parvati played a great game, but aside from 3 episodes, she had a really shitty edit. Too bad, it would have been nice to see more of her.

ProbstFan: briand:That about sums up the whole situation for women in this game (and life in general). Play hard and they'll cut you off at the knees for being a bitch. Go UTR and you get dis'd as a coattail rider. Even after she makes it to the F-2 with the immunity necklace around her neck, Amanda gets "pageant queen" thrown in her face. As a man, I had no problems watching the women's game. This was a great end-game. |

This was indeed a great end-game with an aggressive FEMALE winner, so I overall liked this season. It will be interesting to see where it ends up on
people's favorite seasons list.
O, and is the "known pair" rule completely thrown out the window? |

fat little fingers wrote: I did think it was interesting that Amanda got the doe-eyed, zombie face comment while on the island. I know people around here mentioned that many times, but I guess she really is that way. Too bad, she did have some good strategy and she was the strongest female out of the final batch in the challenges. Her big downfall is that she isn't as strong and outgoing as some of the others. She did all the right stuff except for letting other people lead more...and owning her game. Same as last time, she has to be willing to own her game and hope that is enough. One answer she gave in the final TC showed promise (don't remember which one), but it wasn't enough. Maybe if she gets a third chance she'll do better. |

O, and is the "known pair" rule completely thrown out the window? It should be. This is two seasons in a row that guideline hasn't worked. |

chad6 wrote: I just posted this in another thread, but Micronesia currently ranks #3 on my seasons list, right behind Palau & China. What an awesome season. Tracy and Parvati are both solidly in my top 5 castaways of all time, and combine that with some amazing blindsides (from Mary all the way to Erik), some of the best quotes ever ("It's just a fucking stick!", "What in the nickoledeon was that?", "I'll be flossing with his jugular...", "It's warm...like pee water.", etc.) and so many great moments and challenges made this season truly memorable and awesome to watch. And yeah, I think the "known pair" rule should be 100% eliminated by now. Last season we had Todd, Amanda & Courtney, and this season we had
the all-female F3 we knew about since Episode 3, and then the closest duo out of those 3 ended up in the F2 together, so it's apparent that guideline is
way past its prime.

So do you think that if a know pair makes it to the Final 2/3 next season, it should be a rule that known pairs will likely make the Finals

I've been thinking lately that, as far as the guidelines go, less is more. In that sense, I don't think we should start to assume that the known
pairs/threes at the end are DEFINITELY going to be there. I think its just one of those things where they show it sometimes, but don't show it others. I
think it's more determined by what the editors are given. If they can still make the story engaging down the line, it isn't a big deal if the final 3
is "out there." If the final 3 being a surprise is a big selling point for that particular season, they can't show it.
As far as reasons for the Final 2 instead of the Final 3 go, I think the producers may actually WANT a tied final vote. They opened up the door in the past few seasons with a final three and this season, they made it even more likely to happen with a final 2 and 8 jurors. Rather than it just being a coincidence or something they are fearing, they seem to be trying for it. To me, that suggests that they have some amazing tiebreaker procedure that they have thought up that would be great TV, but none of us have figured it out yet. I was thinking they would do a challenge with the jurors or make the jurors vote one of their own out before the actual final TC. I'd love to see all of them, dressed up nice for the camera, trying to start a fire or something. |
