I agree about the name. If they are going to copy Fergi at least make it something like Sexylicious or Fabulicious, not Girlicious. Dumb.

I didn't think these girls could wear any more makeup til I saw that music video. Holy shit..what did they do to Nichole!? She was a naturally
cute/pretty girl that looked innocently sexy w/ all the glam but in that video? She was barely recognizeable..another blonde Barbie and it's a shame b/c
she really is good looking.
Chrystina's hair color/weave? No feeling it. Nat and Tiff looked good though. It's clear that Nichole will be the lead, Tiff will do the end runs, Chrystina will get verses but prob. won't lead off songs and Nat is like the Posh Spice of the group..she'll do the low, talking parts, lol. Charlye's 'Do you really want to be here' edit was like a red flashing light. Pathetic..the show milked that for all it was worth and by the end I felt like th\e judges were pushing her to quit. Oh and Nat's solo song? LOL...please, at least they acknowledge that she's not a strong singer but how unfair was that!? |

They should have called the girls 'electronic helium', as that is what their voices sound like with all the studio manipulation they are doing. It was
horribly evident in the final challenge especially with Natalie and Nicole's solos. (not as much through Chrystina's)

I may be crazy, but I like Natalie's voice and I liked her solo song. Charlye is the only one I thought sucked. Why would they makeover Tiffanie to look
like Charlye (with the severe bangs)? It was a bad look on Charlye and it ruins Tiffanie...

Agreed on them making Nichole into another generic blonde woman. Natalie seems to have 2 versions of her top, one that says "Latinas do it better" and the other being the infamous "Beauty is a talent". |

i like the overall look, but i agree that the makeup HAS to be toned down! they are supposed to be more fresh faced girls.

I ruined the surprise of the finale by going to iTunes yesterday, before the show aired, and clicking on the Girlicious link. Just couldn't wait..... Chrystina sucked at the finale - slightly off-key and pitchy, as usual, in her rendition of Heart's "What About Love." When I say "sucked" I mean in comparison to the other contestants. Chrystina is, of course, more talented vocally than the average person; but in relation to Charlye, for example, she is not as musically gifted nor as commanding a performer. Even in one of her worst performances (her mind was obviously elsewhere as L'il Kim commented) - Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" - Charlye is obviously a better singer and has much more confidence and presence on stage. If you look at the YouTube live performance posted by LPMA (performed this morning, I believe, in Los Angeles) it is SO obvious Chrystina still isn't vocally ready. She's the worst singer of the three: extremely off-key and somwhat nervous-looking. What Chrystina brings to the group is a great, sexy look and great dancing skills. I actually like her blonder hair and eyebrows: It makes her look even more exotically beautiful than she already is, to the point of one not really knowing what ethnicity she is. Is she black? Latina? Possibly both? I wouldn't be surprised if that was Robin's aim for the makeover. Chrystina also brings a nice personality to the group, something Charlye was lacking. I'm sure Robin wanted to avoid another fiasco a la Asia Nitollano's backing out of the PCD, so anyone with the slightest hesitation about commitment (and evidence of personality problems) got the boot. I like both new songs and think the girls look and sound great in them. Not very original video concepts, though. "Stupid Shit" borrows too much from Britney Spears' schoolgirl uniform look in the "Baby Hit Me One More Time" video; whereas "Like Me" borrows too much from Christina Aguilera's boxing ring concept in "Dirrtty."

I really enjoy both songs. I prefer the Like Me video though, because it looks a lot less contrived than the one for Stupid Shit. In the latter, you can just
hear Robyn off-screen going "OK girls, time to jump on the bed. Pick up the pillows and start fighting......NOW".

Yeah - the end of the "Stupid Shit" video where they're jumping around on the bed is super dumb. It looks like Robin just ran out of ideas

I don't know how much I'll enjoy this group in the future after that trainwreck of a show but they made the best choices for the group. I do like that
nobody is really in the lead as evidenced by both of the first two songs out there. Maybe I can just be a Tiffanie fan, she's got a good head on her
shoulders but blandy-mc-blanderson Nic, nasty Nat & her own personal Amber don't really inspire me to wave their flag high.

I'm not sure why Tiffanie and Charlye are being discussed in the same way. Tiffanie is at least attractive if not gorgeous. She may not be as hot as
Natalie or even Christina, but she certainly doesn't bring down the group. Charlye is pretty hard on the eyes, though. She would stand out as the fug one
kind of like how "Sporty" did in the Spice Girls...

On a related note. Nicole Scherzinger sang the national anthem last weekend at the Oscar DeLa Hoya fight. She looked fantastic and I just caught the end where
she was struggling to reach the high notes on Land of the free....
Jim Lampley said she could sing it at all the fights as far as he was concerned but it was clearly not her best performance. Just an observation related to the looks vs. talent discussion. |
