This was always the case with both Chris and Sandra. They were very present before the merge, slowed down a bit after the merge, then sped up toward the end. At the same time, they were central to the voting and decision making while not being threatened themselves.
There's always the "other fish to fry" attitude. However, Cirie one-ups both of them by being a primary strategist in the big moves.
Many big players / characters who were booted near the end were set up to do so. Other players brought up the fact that they needed to go. People who come to mind include: Terry, Rudy, Kathy, Ian, Rafe, Fairplay, Rupert, and several others.
Both Amanda and Parvati fall into this category. Both, like others mentioned, have been mentioned as boot possibilities at some point during the game-early or late.
Cirie has NEVER been mentioned as a possible boot. Yet, she keeps bringing up the "anyone but me" phrase. This echos Sandra and Chris in a lot of ways.
Cirie's high pre-merge visibility has been balanced with a nice moderate post-merge visibility. Still that moderate visibility has been enough to put her in every boot discussion. That's huge, despite what others call a dismal first and merge episode. They were never dismal, just not as big as others.
There are SO many reasons why I think Cirie is the winner, stemming from her story and others' stories. The ONE thing that makes me a little worried is that they haven't focused on her relationships with others and how others weigh her chances. But wasn't that the case with Sandra and Chris as well?
As for Amanda, she's become a big post-merge player, but I see her more as a Rafe than a winner. She seems to be more of a swing vote in the jury than someone who is vying for votes from the jury. We've heard reasons why she shouldn't go up in the finals, but who will be the one who ends up voting her out?
If it's a final 2, I see it being Parvati and Cirie with Amanda being the last person voted out-at the hands of Parvati.
If it's a final 3, I see Amanda being booted in the final 4. I see the focus being on Natalie but leaving as Cirie convinces Parvati to boot Amanda. If this is the case, I don't see Natalie as being a real threat in the final 3, but trying to push her status as the underdog and the person who lied to Jason and Erik (and getting blamed for it).
"Blame to Share"? Yeah-everyone. The question is: How do we distinguish blame from credit?
