Has anyone considered that we know absolutely NOTHING about Christian's backstory? We also know nothing about "Anthony Cooper" other than he is a con-man. Anthony Cooper may not even be his real name. I had this wild epiphany last night, that the two are actually brothers and we just haven't got to that part of the story yet. Perhaps they were separated at birth and never knew one another. One ended up being a "good" one, the other, a "bad" one. Isn't that the underlying theme of Lost? Good vs Bad. That would make Locke and Jack cousins. It would also make Claire and Locke cousins.

Additionally, maybe Jacob is the father of Christian and/or Anthony Cooper. Maybe he had some supernatural power or ability from jumpstreet and mayhaps he was neither "good" or "bad" but a being of neutrality. His offspring would take sides. One would be "light", one would be "dark". However, neither of them would necessarily get their boon from him. The third generation (i.e. Jack, Claire, or Locke) would get their boon from Jacob. At this point, it looks like that will be Locke. This would also make Aaron the fourth generation of Jacob's descendants.
