Just wow. What an idiot. I never laughed so hard watching Survivor before. Amazing.
I didn't read all the posts here yet, but Parvati's still winning. The pentimulate episode editing is never coherent with the rest of the season, don't get worried about it. |

Another thing that strikes me as odd about Parvati. Look at the confessional thread. The lowest ranking winner in terms of overall number of confessionals is
Vecepia with 38. With one episode left, Parvati would need an overall 16 confessionals in the next episode just to TIE Vecepia. This brings me to another
point. While Parvati may have had high visibility at times, a lot of her negativity (and she HAS/ been negative) has been outwardly expressed. I mean, Brian
was an ass, but he had a lot of negativity in his confessionals. Todd was a bitch but a lot of HIS negativity came from confessionals. In terms of
confessionals that are supposed to make us doubt, Cirie has a lot of that, just like Todd did last season.

She's 20 behind Cirie, but I guess that's not necessarily Edgic. This season has been low on confessionals, I believe... |

Actually, much of Parvati's negativity HAS been in confessionals. She's been kind, and straightforward with people to their faces.

About the high visibility - didn't Todd have that too. I can't think of a single episode where Todd fell under the radar, or didn't have a
significant amount of face time. Todd completely DEMOLISHED everyone of his castmates last season in the visibility department
If we're comparing edits of the past couple of winners, Cirie is the only one this season that is even close to them. The thing that brings up warnings signs in Parvati's edit, was the edit episode one, then completely falling off the radar until the merge. |

Parvati was good in ep.3-4 too. She was MOR3\CP4 (borderline) in ep.3 and had a good scene with Eliza ep.4 when they didn't go to TC. Parvati talks a lot
outside of confessionals. I don't think they rely on them as much as they once did. The editing has been more democratic than in Cook Islands, where there
were many more Alexis and Mary type characters.
If you told me the bare bones events of last episode, I'd predict Parv would have a quiet episode. She goes to exile, doesn't find the idol, and is not close with Erik (only met at merge) so doesn't have the leverage to manipulate him. Amanda manipulated Erik and went on reward. Cirie manipulated Nat back at camp. There's wasn't a big role for Parv, and after 5 straight CP episodes with 3-4 Vis why bother inventing one? Erik's Story Arx Erik was the only man to get the better of a women this season (Ami's boot), and ended up being the guy most thoroughl outwitted. Erik wanted to be like Ozzy - he got to have a S13 IC run and get blindsided like in S16. Cirie being the driving force in his boot was foreshadowed in ep.7, when Cirie was making fun of him and Ozzy,

The only thing keeping me back on 100% Parv Pick is the Low confessional Numbers. She has had 22, in Cook Islands she had 3 more at this point.
Even Amber and Danni had roughly 5-10 more confessionals than her at this point |

I just don't get it. I must be missing something huge.
What's the hoopla with Parvati? At this point in the season, how is she getting a "perfect winner's edit"? By what merit is she getting that much of a better edit than Cirie or, since the merge, Amanda? What am I missing? Also, on what merit would/could she win a jury vote against either Amanda or Cirie? Of course we know she could win against Natalie, but is that even up for discussion? Amanda's got the popularity. Cirie's got the brains and the brilliant gameplay PLUS she's offended less people. Between the hints that Parvati is lazy, has betrayed people from the frontline in her close alliances, the way she treated Eliza, talked crap about Ozzy, Jason, and of cousre Erik using the words she used, and the fact that almost everyone in the final 7 plainly said she was the one who THINKS she is controlling the game (meaning she isn't) WHAT on Earth entitles her to a win? We've seen every reason why she should lose and every reason why Amanda and Cirie could win. Strategy? Looking back, has she really been THAT good of a strategist? She made an alliance with Alexis and Natalie. Big freaking deal. That actually goes against her original alliance. Dunno-she's been a decent contender but NEVER a front runner in terms of edgic in my mind. Okay, maybe one week, but that was after giving the due doubt to Cirie. That temporary doubt does not add up to a tenth of the doubt that Parvati's gotten for a LONG time. As stated before, Parvati would need a Clay, Twila, Matt, or Katie to win. She has none of them. She doesn't even have a Stephanie or Danielle (well maybe Natalie, but again-is that even up for discussion?) Meanwhile, with Cirie, you have people being so technical by saying she didn't quite have a first episode or a merge episode required for a win. Huh? Last I checked she wasn't even close to being invisible in either. She wasn't even close to being severely neglected either-just not the most prevelent person in those episodes. And the nice cool down in the merge coupled with the important edits in the boots she was truly involved with says something. To me, that balances the heavy edit she got in several episodes before the merge. She was ALWAYS shown weighing in when she had a hand in voting someone out. As we move into the finale, I'd say Cirie is the hands-down winner pick. If she gets booted before the end, then I would have to go with Amanda as the winner at this point. It was not just one good episode she had but several (if not all) since the merge. |

I'm new to this edgic thing but I find it fascinating especially since I'm sick and I have nothing else to do but sit here and read all this.
But does anyone else think that Parvati's thing looks a lot like Amanda's from last season? 
(Sorry for linking I'll take them down if you want) So they start off with like half UTR and 1 CP and a couple of MORs and then they start getting CP toward the end with a UTR thrown in. |

This is starting to feel like S11 where everyone's edit is flawed in one way or another.
Parvati - UTR for several episodes in a row, borderline INV episode, weak episode this week Amanda - UTR for several early episodes, INV episode Cirie - weak first episode and weak merge episode Natalie - INV episodes I guess Parvati is still the best choice. But I'm not confident about it at all.

I'm rewatching Episode One. That is really, at the end of the day, the episode that matters. It outlines the player for the season, and introduces any
downflaws to the big characters as well.

I have not had Cirie as my pick at all, and only recently has she made number 2 for me, but I've got to say Cirie wins at this point.
Parvati will have to face Amanda, Cirie or both at the final TC. I cannot fathom a situation in which she would beat either of these 2. Parvati may fit Edgic guidelines the best, but that doesn't mean I think she's winning. Not bad, Edgic Guidelines, but not good enough. Maybe you can improve your game next time. |

jediijake, I have to disagree with you on the fact that Amanda would be the No. 2 pick if Cirie didn't win. Cirie is my No. 1 pick but I have to say that
my number two would be Parvati. The problem with Amanda is that her pre-merge edit was just abyssmal. It is only since the merge she has emerged and it just
reminds me too much of China where Amanda was the post-merge distraction for Todd.
For those who say that Parvati only has so few confessionals because there were 20 people - look at how many confessionals Cirie has been getting (though still in the realm of past winners). Obviously having 20 people haven't stopped them from jacking up Cirie's number of confessionals so obviously it is nothing to do with the number of people. Added to this there are the other things I pointed out before like the complex tribe always staying with Cirie, when she is not directly in the action only giving fluffy comments to Parvati and giving strategy comments to Cirie etc. I've talked about his many times. The most energy and care in editing has gone to Cirie. To me, actually Parvati's edit reads "distraction". Her edit is too inconsistent. She is pulled out when needed and not totally ignored, but given fluffy statements to make when she is not. She is highly visible but they don't give her the actual face time (confessionals) to back up a highly visible winner. If her role is as distraction it also explains why she dropped off so dramatically post-swap. Ozzy took the role of highly visible distraction. Outwardly Parvati looks like a potential winner but they after they haven't bothered to spend the time and energy to provide substance to that edit. To the average viewer she looks less like a potential winner now because of the negativity and surprise, Amanda emerges. The only person that has been consistent through the whole season is Cirie. I have to say that I think people who think Parvati will win are possibly making a similar mistake to those who thought Alexis would win, though to a lot less degree because Parvati's edit has been a lot better than Alexis. They are basing too much on the comment Parvati made in Episode 1 where she talks about switching up her game. My philosophy on editing is this - winner "comments" (and animal imagery) take very little effort on the part of the editors. They can and do throw them around willy nilly and people tend to suffer selective memory in that they remember what Danni said in Episode 1 but they forget the fact that a good deal of the losers had "winner comments" too. What is important is things that take a lot of energy on the part of the editors. I'm not saying that choosing Parvati is based solely on that Episode 1 comment - as I said, Parvati is the 2nd of the remaining 4 that I would choose - but I do wonder if Parvati would be so popular as an edgic pick if it wasn't for that Episode 1 comment.

Cirie's vote -brains over brawn -so good. All she has in this game is her brain -she didn't have winsome looks over brawn -she's the best player to ever, ever play this game even if she loses. Totally agree, CL. She also has the social skills to go with her brain. The only person to come close would be Hatch because he had both brains and brawn.
Yul also had both but I'd imagine he would always piss off the Parvatis of this world. What wouldn't be funnier than Alexis, or any fan, to go to Final TC and tell Parvati, "I thought we knew every favorite's game. But you changed yours, and you deserve to win." And that is shown as the clinching vote.OTH, I still think Jonathan Prophet's Cassandra's warning to Parvati about Cirie will be the one to remember most at the end - but not necessarily because Cirie wins. |
