Posts: 1328 (05/09/08 12:42 AM) I need a life Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Erik is far and away #1 for one very simple reason that doesn't apply to Ian or Colby- he did it thinking it would be a strategic move to his advantage. Colby knew, and outright stated, that he had a much better shot against Keith over Tina and that he didn't make the best strategic decision. He said these things while still in the game. Ian, while one could argue that Tom talked Ian into quitting, made the decision to quit. He wasn't playing to win anymore, he didn't care about that. Erik was playing to win, and made this move to try to have a better shot at winning. Colby and Ian did not. Erik made the biggest mistake in the history of Survivor.

And if he had neither idol, he would have been perfectly safe that night. Plus, if he didn't win immunity at one of the next two challenges, he could go home. Erik was guaranteed F4, knew that all four wanted him out, yet still gave away immunity! James I'd say is top 10 definately, Erik is probably #1.

After all the backstabbing and blindsiding, it very well could've been her next. She should've at least looked for it. I was hoping that the big mistake would have turned out to be Parvati voted off and her not playing an idol because she didn't even look.

Colby's decision wasn't nearly as stupid (though still worthy of #3) as he did still almost win and was painted as a nice guy, and he did know what he was doing by taking Tina over Keith. Erik chose to be an ignorant idiot and ignore the signs and failed hard. Still not as dumb as Ian's deal, though it's close. So yeah, Erik should be #1 or #2. Clearly dumber than Colby's move, and it's arguable whether it trumps Ian. Another move that should be high is Erik sending Parvati to Exile over Natalie. If Natalie found the HII and Erik won immunity, Amanda would've been most likely gone and Erik would be in an even better position to make F3 with Natalie as a possible ally and he might have had a better chance of winning. Erik was in the situation he was in because of not sending Natalie to Exile. I feel that is definitely worthy of being on the list, and probably somewhat high up in that.

It's ridiculous to not even look for the Idol when you know it's there. Sure, there's a 95% chance she was safe anyway, but what if they decided to vote for her for some reason anyway? Better to be safe and at least look for the Idol instead of lounging on the beach all day.

We can't know for sure that she didn't look for it; she was there for two days and that confessional might have been 2 hours after she arrived. I feel quite certain that she did at least read the clues, out of sheer boredom if nothing else, but that story was so overshadowed by the Erik story, they didn't waste footage showing it (she has been too smart of a player not to give it a shot--even if she ended up giving the Idol to an ally). I feel almost certain that she DID look for it some, being there for two days, but since it never came into play, they showed us that quote so we would know she didn't have it at TC, so the entire suspense would be about Erik. Remember that the editors have lots of loose ends every 3 days to tie into one 45-minute episode, so they don't waste footage on storylines that don't go anywhere. That was the main reason I knew Erik would be fooled into giving up the Idol; they wouldn't have shown so much hardcore plotting over that one event if it hadn't happened.
