Uh huh. Great movie. I saw it at the theater then bought it as soon as it was released on DVD. I should watch it again. I never saw Vantage Point. I'll
grab that one on DVD, too.
aslans - A friend of mine on AOL did the avatar. I'll ask him to make one for you, ok? I miss Jack's gorgeous face, but I'm too lazy to change it right now. |

Interview with Foxy | ||

LOS ANGELES-It would be hard to find someone in Hollywood as grounded as Matthew Fox. However, you wouldn't know that by watching him on Lost, where he
plays the "messed up" Dr. Jack Shephard.
In a room at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, he says that while his character has had issues in past episodes, things will get worse before they get better in episodes that follow him into the future. "Jack is a frickin' mess in the future so that has not been pleasant to revisit," he says. "It's never fun to put yourself in a place where you are messed up and desperate. He has gotten to rock bottom but I understand why we are taking him there. There is a period when he gets back [from the island] where he has built a construct of denial that he can maintain. Then things start to intrude on that bubble and he can no longer maintain the lie that he was telling himself, and things start falling apart. There will be a turn in there where he begins to build toward redemption, so I think taking him to the pit of despair will make that more rewarding." Ironically, Fox, who came to Lost with a resume that included several years on another hit series, Party of Five, was never allowed to watch TV when he was growing up. His parents owned a ranch in Wyoming, and he says they made sure that he spent most of his time reading or working on the farm. He says that he is happy that he gets to live and work in Hawaii while making Lost because his two children have learned to value the outdoors and seldom watch himself or anyone else on TV. "It is very important that they develop their own imaginations and use them," he says. "That helped me a lot, and being in Hawaii is great because they spend a lot of time outside. My daughter is 10 and discovered surfing, and she has already found some big waves to ride." His seven-year-old son and his daughter will be able to watch his latest project, Speed Racer, which hits theatres May 9. He says he liked the character, Racer X, a flawed hero who tries to bring race-car sponsors to justice. And he says that although he is based on a cartoon figure, there are similarities to Jack Shephard. "I don't buy into the notion of pure heroes. I think that is sort of an antiquated idea. For me it is more exciting to play guys like X and Jack who are very human, like we all are, and flawed in many ways but in very difficult circumstances do very heroic things and find some redemption in that. I think that is very interesting and challenging and relatable to me." Source: Straight |

Aaaaaa, what's wrong with Jack? His appendix ruptured? Great so Juliet is gonna have to operate on him?

I guess because he's not on Jacob's list? Sawyer almost died, remember? But it did seem his healing process after was faster than the norm.
THAT could be that the show doesn't have time to spend with long recoveries though. I've also seen posters in the episode thread wonder why they're
wasting scenes with Jack being ill. I'm assuming it gives Camp Jack a bit of a scare wondering what to do without him, also a chance for Juliet to take
care of him. They have very little time left together.
I also heard in next week's previews Jack asking for Kate. That had to be a bit of a ouchie to Juliet. I know people are all about battle and Ben/Widmore, but I hope they understand the writers have to stick to the core also.. and that happens to be relationships between the characters.. even it's it those dang triangles that most are tiring of. |

( but it's no worse then knowing Kate asks for Jack next week LOL)
I listened to the podcast for last weeks show and they said that Jack's storyline so far this year has been minimal...but that changes starting with next week's episode. So good news for Jack fans...sounds like he'll be coming on strong (plot-wise...not health-wise)...the rest of this season. |

Pegs, you don't watch the previews for the next episode?? That wasn't posted as a spoiler... just heard it in the preview after episode 9.
Oh and now that I know more about Speed Racer, I think I'm gonna see it.

Looks like Jack still has some daddy issues to deal with. I wonder if he knows Aaron is his nephew? It almost seemed like he did. But his comment to Kate
could go either way. Of course a bunch of people in the episode thread are bitching about the episode being boring, but I thought it was really good. And
what the heck is Christian up to? Seriously, does he have to screw with his kids in death too?

Sure I'm a bit biased but I loved this episode and NOT because of all the Jack scenes. As I said in the episode thread, some would not be happy with any
episode after the bloodbath last week. To each his own I guess.
This episode was loaded with information and that's another plus for me. And omg... JackJackJackJackJackJackJack JackJackJackJackJackJackJack JackJackJackJackJackJackJack JackJackJackJackJackJackJack JackJackJackJackJackJackJack This is probably the first time in Lost history I did NOT wanna hear his name more than 32 times! <grumble> <damn quiz> |

And what the heck is Christian up to? Seriously, does he have to screw with his kids in death too?Even spoilers don't answer that one. He does have a purpose though.. no way would this man be connected to more Losties than any other FB character and keep popping up if it didn't mean something more that just "screwing with his kids". I love John Terry. I can't imagine anyone else playing Jack's father. It does seem kinda weird that he is Claire's father too though. She and Jack seem to have nothing in common at all: not in looks (of course she resembles her mother), not in personality (that could be chalked up to being raised in totally different environments), not even any of the same habits or quirks or anything. I have an older sister that was raised by another family. I didn't meet her until I was 24. It was CRAZY how many things we had in common, from big things like claustrophobia to small things like we both hold pens/pencils in an uncommon way. Of course we had many differences, too. If we had been raised together, I might have asked some other family to adopt me. |

Matthew Fox was SUPER SEXY as Racer X in Speed Racer Felicia! Smokin' hot with that hot black leather on...mmmmmm :) He even changed his voice in the
movie. SEXAY! I so wanted to jump him :)

saw it tonight. Fox was good in it ( as usual<g>). Definitely sexy. (picture him in leather alot) Which I actually say with some surprise...because I
don't actually find Jack sexy. Go figure<g>. I have one small criticism of the movie....it's abit long. I think they could have cut/shortened
some of the computer generated race scenes. It was almost like they were in love with being able to use that technology. But the story itself was good..and
all of the acting was good. The monkey and the youngest Racer kid...stole the scenes that they were in. Luckily none of them were with Racer X...lol.

Not a bit surpised that Deliverance got all steamy over Foxy in the movie, but omigosh did my Pegs actually call him SEXY?? LoL
Ya know, I never really think of "Jack" in terms of hot or anything like that..much... SURPRISE. I am just totally in tv love with his character. I can't say I haven't gotten some chills (good chills) from some of his mannerisms or smiles (when he smiles) or some of his lines. I don't think he was meant to be the stud of the group anyway. He moves me for so many reasons that have nothing to do with looks.. one - I identify with him in a way (trying to fix others but not fixing ME), two- he is much more my type IRL than the other male characters, three - he can act without speaking, and four - when his eyes tear up (JEARS!), it breaks my heart. I could list 50 more reasons why his character is so appealing to me, but I'll leave it at that. Anyway, all those things combined make him attractive, compelling and yeah.. sexy.. to me. |
