That wouldn't be a surprise or a blindside or anything.. if this tc is going to be the greatest it has got to be something big.. Well, they didn't say it was a blindside, just that someone does something stupid, the idol "comes into play again in a way it never has before" and that we would enjoy the episode. So I'm thinking if Erik trusts any of these women that qualifies as something colossally stupid. And would be darned entertaining besides. I'm giving up all speculation on how the hell the idol is used. At this point I confess to being stymied.

My theory is though, maybe Erik uses the idol by stealth. He goes to exile and pulls the same stunt as Amanda. (tips out the bag etc). Of course, the girls are wary because they know now that Amanda found the idol in camp. At tribal council, Erik announces that he is going to play the idol tonight because there's no harm in doing so - so it's the last time it can be played. This sends Cirie/Parv and Amanda into a tailspin and they vote Natalie at the last minute (they may have had a contingency plan prior to tribal.) Of course Erik never had the idol - it was all a scam! That's a different way of playing it?

The right thing?? What the hell is the right thing; not playing the HII to save one of them but not himself; that is retarded. There is no point in the girls scrambling to devise a plan UNLESS one of them is vulnerable so Erik is somehow safe. If the situation is that Erik has the HII and they come up with something they feel he is stupid enough to fall for then I can see them "convincing" him not to use the HII b/c they are voting (let's say Natalie) out. I know Erik looks good for the II but I have hinkies Amanda may win it - the shot of her at the puzzle table by herself makes me think that she is first with the puzzle (Erik may be a fast runner but that doesn't mean he can solve the puzzle faster) If Amanda has immunity and Erik has the HII, it would make sense that Cirie and Parv would be trying to formulate a "thing" with him (i.e. going to final three) The girls think Erik is dumb enough not to use the HII; they are all planning on voting Erik but Erik announces at the last minute that he has changed his mind because the talk at the TC involves the HII and he will be using it and P/C/A vote Nat and Nat votes whoever. It might work in this scenario b/c that technically has never been done before Modesty like you posted. Maybe I read this wrong somewhere but did anyone see anywhere some blurb teaser about a play on stabbing in the back and instead it said something like stab in the front? I may have misread it. That's a different way of playing it? i would laugh my ass off if he did that, if he did that he would earn the rupert prize at the live show, come on this guy puled the merge tripe name out of his butt got to love him for that.

While it's pretty stupid for someone who is in possession of the HII to not use it; I think it is also pretty damn stupid for someone (or someones) to actually believe that someone has the HII and WON'T use it and are hanging their hats on it. If Erik goes then yep he is the BIGGEST moron to ever be in this game; I guess I just can't believe that anyone is dumber than Jason

Or, at least a couple of folks who have been voted off mentioned that Erik just cannot keep a secret, he blabs everything he knows, so if you want an opposing alliance to have some misinformation, you just tell it to Erik. He seems the one out there least capable of carrying off deception.

Being the only fan with 3 faves, he just needs to win one immunity to get into (what they would be assuming to be) the final 3. one fan (who's not upset anyone) against two snarky faves would look good to the jury. I don't thik he will get there but they don't have the numbers anyway so the two of them sticking together seems a bit pointless. PS. I'm at work so I have to be quick - hope this makes sense.

(She wanted them to keep Heidi over her, because she thought Heidi had a better shot at destroying Rob's plans. And who knows maybe Heidi would have gone on an immunity run, and won!)

Similarly for Natalie, and she especially needs to get Erik out this round, to avoid risking him winning immunity at F4. It's more of a question to me why either of them would even consider continuing an alliance with the other, once Alexis was out. I'd think the better approach would be to agree it's been a great ride so far, shake hands, and then start with the frontstabbing. (Of course, I can't really see why any of the women would want Erik to get past this round. Seems to me any rational thing anyone says to him this week, other than "Sorry, I'm voting you out" , should be a lie.)

Posts: 1294 (05/07/08 11:29 PM) Registered User More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I seem to remember an early SP/VG "clue" very early on(I think Jonathan was still in the game) of a group of pictures with "Oh no, they've done it again" and it was somehow referring the purported final female alliance and also Vanuatu, where the female finalists, who dominated, let Chris stay and then they lost to him? There was an unidentified male foot with a colorful sneaker...Some people said at the time that it was Chet, but I always thought it looked like Erik. But yes, I'm on the page that the biggest blunderer is NATALIE and that clip of her saying "Who would fall for a story like that?" is setting HER up for the blunder and the boot, not Erik. Agreeance that all the women would want him out at this point, but if he doesn't wins immunity how can he stay? So he must win it. SEEBS'"See the MOST SHOCKING TRIBAL COUNCIL EVER!" on the promos may be nothing of the sort and may be as simple as Erik going. But there's no shock in that. They're misdirecting like cra-zee this week... In conclusion, I think the blunder is Natalie's. Somehow, someway, and if Erik is safe, they have to start eating their own...And Cirie and Amanda never liked Alexis/Natalie anyway...Remember Cirie's "Who are these people on my beach? I don't like them. Make them go away." And she does... GOD! If Erik got into the Final Four or even Final Three, it would make sense out of all the insane amount of positive editing that he's gotten. The native tribe/feast, he was the only one with insights into the "island experience" and he'd "never seen so many boobs in my life" speech...Well, he's surrounded by boobs now! But yes, he'd HAVE to have immunity in order to stay this week. And maybe that's what makes all the women "blunder". The "blunder" could even be Amanda's... If she wins the RC and sends Erik to EI to find the Island, that could certainly be classified as a blunder. But she doesn't like or trust Erik. Hazy recollection on these events; I tend to try and omit past shows from my memory but did Yul actually USE it or did he threaten to use it? In this case Erik WOULD be using it after promising he wouldn't with the women going to TC thinking they again snared another guy in their web then Erik lights a fire under everyone's butt and decides he will use it with causes everyone to panic/scramble. It may solely be for my sense of wanting something else to happen rather than any logical bearing (and the fact that I refuse to believe anyone is more stupid than Jason) that I think Natalie leaves. I just think that Natalie's stock has risen no further and she will get owned. I get that Erik may be naive enough to think it (references to his wide eyed innocence) but after week after week after week, I would hope Erik would not just blindly not play the idol. Orange it was Chet's foot and there was discussion all over about an all female final four but what the hell, Erik has long hair.

I did not see anything already written so I apologized if this has already been mentioned. But in trying to think of what could be a bigger blunder involving the HII has anyone ever tried to play it after the votes have been read. Of course it would not be of any use at that point but just a thought. What if the person holding the idol ( presumably Eric) held on to the idol then after seeing that the girls had all written his name down then tried to play the idol.

Trix, Yul used the idol to lure Jonathan across to the Aitu 4 after the merge, saying basically if he votes with Raro tonight he'll be gone because Yul had the idol and would play it. I count it as a different scenario because Yul's idol was far more powerful. It could be played after the vote so it didn't require any great secrecy. Threat was also made back at camp. The scenario I made up (which you can almost guarantee is wrong) is the exilee waiting until tribal and making out during the pre-vote discussion that he intended to play the idol.... even though he didn't have it. That's the kind of thing I would do to save my ass if needed. If everyone fell for it and changed their vote accordingly, that's a pretty big blunder I reckon.
