Either Cook made a poor song choice, or he doesn't want to win this prefab show.

Still not great, but not as mediocre as his first. Gotta agree with everyone else, sucks that they had to butcher that song.

David Cook.
Baba O'Riley by The Who. Good idea, I think, choosing a song never before sung on this show. It's a downtempo, controlled vocal to start; true to the original. He strums gently on his guitar, as he rolls toward the chorus with a serious pitch issue or two on held notes. But he takes it up the octave, into his comfort zone. It's a little shouty here, though. The vocal style is clearly David Cook's own, which redeems somewhat. Odd arrangement; odd ending. Another 7, if that. Randy: Yo. I dunno. Something a little different going on tonight, but that's like the Cook I've grown to know. You're the resident rocker dude. Paula: I just want more! More! More David Cook! I'm humbled to sit here and watch your soul! Simon: Welcome back, David Cook. |

I just really like his voice. It would be interesting to see what good producers could do with him.

Cookie has been very underwhelming tonight. I guess I just had too high hopes or something.
And I guess I'm tone death too cause I thought Jason sounded pretty good on "I shot the sheriff". Hee. |

Everytime I hear this song all I think about is Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland.

I didn't think it was possible but I dislike this season more than last season.

Rock Star was a different show.
This is American idol, not Rock idol. |

What was up with Ryan in that commercial transition he looked like he saw a murder taking place in the audience.

That was better than his first song, by far. I don't even know the song, though, so I've nothing to compare it to.

David C.'s second song was better than the entire first round.
I can't believe I have to put Archie higher than anybody in Round 1. |
