I thought it was able to be told because of the type of Cell Phone, and the newspaper had a date of April 4th, no?

Second, we never saw a date on the newspaper. Some overzealous nerds overanalyzed that prop, and figured out that it had been mocked up from the
LA Times of April 4th or 5th of 2007. Which is probably because those scenes were filmed not long after that date.
Thus, the prop maker bought a copy of that particular issue with which to dummy up a copy of the Times with the
article about the mysterious death. Nothing more, nothing less. And that's why the date is highly questionable.

Darlton were on Kimmel tonight. Mostly they just kidded around - said that all of season 5 would be spent exploring what happened to Jack's chest hair.
On the upside, though, they aired a scene from next week's episode.
Locke asks Hugo if he ever wondered what happened to the Dharma Initiative, the folks who built all the stations and houses, and made the ranch dressing he likes so much. He then shows Hugo the pit full of decaying Dharma corpses and tells him that Ben happened to them. Ben, standing in the background, looks a bit upset and even little ashamed that Hugo learns that he was behind the execution of the Dharmites. |

Help me out here ya'll. There was a post that I just can't find that explained, in a nutshell, what season 4, 5, and 6 were going to be about. Like 4
was how did they get off, 5 how they got back, 6 how they lost their minds or something like that hehe. Could someone repost that for me please? Thank you.

They keep hyping "there's a price to pay for everything". For instance, what price did Ben have to pay to summon the smoke monster?
When he came out of the door, it looked like cannon balls had been shot at him. I remember thinking that it looked like he had been shot at by huge dirty round somethings (not gonna say balls). Michael Emerson (in the article highlighted below) says that the island is a balanced force/binary. And that John Locke will "have a price to pay", too. And in one of the spoiler interviews recently posted at Aint It Cool, Emerson reveals that he's in the last shot of the season....that he in fact is shooting it on Wednesday of this week! ETA: Has anyone else here documented all of the occurances of oranges/orange juice in Lost before? As it relates to "time travel"? In the pilot, apparently, Jack is drinking orange juice and the flight attendant slips him bottles of vodka. Kate has orange juice, but "doesn't want anymore" and remembers the crash. And there is a glass of orange juice associated with Ben summoning the Smoke Monster? Check this out here...I think it's an awesome find! Look for oranges in the future! P.S. What if Widmore is really Magnus Hanso, and Penny and Ben are his children? Ben "can't kill him" because of the Grandfather Paradox. I'm hooked on one guy's explanations of Lost at DarkUFO.It's making me crazy because it explains so much.

And that John Locke will "have a price to pay", too.Didn't he pay a price by killing his own father for the island (well, technically he had Swayer do it for him) but still. I can see a balance to everything, especially a certain amount of people on the island. Some die and are replaced by new ones. Let's say the island (and Smokey) have been keeping the balance intact. Smokey kill some (like the pilot and Eko) but lets others (like Locke and the mercenaries) live. The original natives of the island die off and are replaced by the crew of the Black Rock. More die off and are replaced by countless travelers until the 1970's when Dharma shows up. More die then the French lady's scientific crew shows up to replace them. The crash of 815 replaces them, some survivors die and we now find a freighter with people to replenish them. Everything has a balance, like black and white, yin and yang, etc. S. |

This is woefully delayed, due to the plague that swept through E! Online last week, but we checked in with Lost coexecutive producer Eddie Kitsis about last
week's ep of Lost, "Something Nice Back Home," and got his awesome insights on:
* What exactly drove Jack to kick-start that pesky Clonazepam addiction? * When we might see the Oceanic Six next? * Why are some characters going crazy while others are finally turning sane? Lesson No. 1, Motherhood Beats Paxil Any Day of the Week: I don't know about you guys, but to me, future Kate is stunningly even-keeled, especially when compared with the girl we've seen before and on the Island. What's up? According to Eddie: "You could say motherhood suits her. In the flash-forwards of this season, and even of last season, when she meets Jack and she's annoyed with him, there's a sense of purpose to her, there's some clarity to her. There's so much devotion to that child, and she appears to be such a great mother-that's maybe what you're picking up on...I think when you have a child, they come first. Even though it's not hers, just the fact of taking care of Aaron may have helped her put away some other issues. Or not. It is Lost." But still...progress! Evangeline Lilly, Lost Lesson No. 2, Happiness Is Hot Coffee and a Warm Girlfriend: According to Eddie: "Like anything with Lost, you're just seeing a small amount of time in what is going to be a much larger picture, but I think 'Something Nice Back Home' was interesting because you saw a time, maybe brief, where Jack was happy. For that brief time, Jack decided after the trial at some point to pursue his relationship with Kate, to go see Aaron, and if you see that first scene, when he steps on the Millennium Falcon and he was making coffee, that was a Jack who was content." So, where'd it all go wrong? Lesson No. 3, Sometimes You Should Just Talk to Your White-Shoed Dead Father: Unlike Hurley, who doesn't take his pills so he's able talk to Charlie, Jack takes pills so he can avoid seeing his dead dad-even though the ever-wise Hurley says that Christian will be coming by specifically to talk to Jack. Why the differing approach to communing with ghosts? Says Eddie: "Jack has always been a man of science. He's always been a man of science, and there has to be something logical. The scene where Jack is starring at the bench where Hurley sits when Charlie visits him, I think in that moment he's thinking, my life right now is pretty good, I don't want to end up here." Awww, come on, Doc, sitting under a banyan tree hanging with your BFF? That's awesome-who cares if the guy is dead?! Elizabeth Mitchell, Lost Lesson No. 4, Jacket Is Down, But Not Out: Don't assume that Juliet's self-sacrificing speech to Kate in the medical tent is the last we'll ever see of Jacket. Says Eddie: "Is that the end of Jack and Juliet? That is a definitive question that I can't answer, because...I can't. Because I work on Lost, and Damon and Carlton are parked outside my house, listening." Translation? It looks to me like a Jacket romance is unlikely at this point, but not altogether off the table. Lesson No. 5, There Are Many Off-Island, O-Six Stories Yet to Come: Don't think that season four is the only season of Oceanic Six stories. According to Eddie: "I think that through the next two seasons, you will see bits and pieces of all the time off the Island, be it when they come back or a year later after they return. There are many interesting stories left to be had for all of the Oceanic Six." |

Millie Lammoreaux wrote: Lost theories are a dime a dozen on the Internet, but well thought out and researched theories picque my curiosity. This man is a writer, and has 2
theories in particular that work well together, combining "pseudoscience" and mythology. I found it very compelling to read his addition comments in
response to other posters after each "theory". As he states, it's not necessary for the "average joe viewer" to follow this stuff or
consider these things to enjoy the show, but perhaps it explains the inspiration for Lost. Bits of this and that from previous epics, works of art, etc.

WiscBadger95 wrote: Ha! Just what the writers of Lost want you to assume :P Seriously, with how well we know timelines are manipulated so much on this show to obfuscate the final explanation...im surprised you are assuming so presumptiously that "Horace" is talking as if he was a man from 2004...isnt it very possible that, with an island that allows time travel, that he could be someone further beyond the 2004 of the world outside the island? Also, a guy who was there when Ben was born, and the guy who had a great hand in getting Ben to the island, and a guy who can communicate to Locke and Ben even though he's dead...sounds like a great candidate for "Jacob" to me. ;) So as long as we are making assumptions, lets start calling Horace by his "real" name from now on... :P |

Excuse me, Phantom, but we all know Christian is Jacob. :op
This whole season has been focused on the Oceanic Six who got off the island and the growing rivalry between Charles Widmore and Ben. In the two-hour season finale on May 29th, we will find out just how the Oceanic Six (Jack, Kate, Sayid, Sun, Hurley and baby Aaron) escaped, the circumstances of why the others were left behind, and why they had to keep what happened to them a secret when they returned to the real world. The flash forwards have added a whole new element to the show this season (Jack and Kate engaged? Hurley is back in the loony bin! Is Claire dead? And if not, why would she let Aaron leave the island without her?) We'll also find out who was in the coffin on last season's finale (speculation has centered on either Michael or Ben) and don't be surprised if the Grim Reaper strikes again, targeting one of our favorite castaways... |
