True, but it could also be the writers showing the viewers what Michael sees in Toby. On a side note, I think the fact that these episodes have generated such
dissection says a lot for what the U.S. OFFICE has become. Probably sucks for those who expect it to be non-stop laughs (whether the humor is subtle or
over-the-top zany), but I love it.

Let's not forget that Ryan holds a grudge against Jim for talking to David Wallace. Jim as a sales person has been pretty good for Dunder Mifflin, he has
been promoted twice and is highly thought of by Wallace. Just because he does slack off at the office (as does everyone else, I might add) doesn't mean he
doesn't do a good job.

kitty white wrote: It was pretty misguided though. Ryan was using the goofing off with Dwight and hanging out with Pam as a cover up. Jim's sales numbers are good and he didn't deserve a formal warning at all. If Ryan had an issue, he should havve spoken with Michael who should have then talked with Jim in his office alone with the door closed. Ryan was completely inappropriate. |

oh, i totally agree - he was definitely using it as an excuse to break balls, and should have handled it differently. however, and I don't know about the
rest of you, but i've definitely been witness to that exact same type of petty behavior at my own workplace. it's usually some a-hole just like ryan,
someone who worked his way up and let the position go to his head. doesn't see the forest for the trees or whatever.

kitty white wrote: Yeah, and it's not out of character considering when Jim came back to Scranton, he bounced Ryan out of his desk doing sales and back to the annex. Ryan has always felt that he was better than all of them, so now that he's got some power, and a nasty coke habit, he's going to enjoy it. |

Actually, as I recall Ryan refused to give Jim back his desk.
I think Ryan never got Jim. There was only one time that Ryan participated in one of their pranks, when he presented that Lion King story as his own. Other than that, I remember him refusing to joke with Jim and Pam. Now he's power-mad and insecure. He's threatened by Jim because of Jim talking to that other guy, and never liked Jim anyway. I'm looking forward to the impending downfall of Ryan and can't wait for him to eat some humble pie. |

NTA, even the Lion King prank was just Pam, that was when Jim was in Stamford. So yeah, he never was a Jim fan.

Yeah, I kind of meant the Jam kidding around thing, that he never participated in those games. But you're right, Jim wasn't there for that one. My
bad, I wasn't very clear in my point.

The only thing that could possibly show he was a Jim fan one time was when they were going to Benihana (I think it was the episode) and Ryan takes all of the
good excuses, and then turns to Jim, says "Welcome back," and smiles at him.

Let's not forget, Ryan has been interested in every girlfriend Jim has had. I don't buy that Karen asked Ryan out either (as Ryan says), because
previously, she told Jim that Ryan asked her out and she turned him down.

Ryan's not completely immune from prankery. He set up Creed's "blog" for him.

With Dwight's resourcefulness and penchant for stashing weapons, he'd find the WMDs in no time.

Tonight's episode, "Job Fair:"
Jim hits the links with Andy and Kevin to try and land his biggest client ever; meanwhile, Michael sets up a booth at a local job fair, which happens to be at Pam's alma mater, to find "the best and the brightest" for Dunder Mifflin's summer internship program. |

If Dwight were his running mate, I would almost vote for them.
But like Kelly says, Dwight's a freak. |

I wonder what the significance of being at Pam's alma mater is? Run in with an old classmate/professor? I could see Michael making a big deal out of it, or
there is a painting she did up in a hallway somewhere. Otherwise, why would that be dropped in the episode description? Oh well, I guess I'll found out in
20 minutes...

No one has anything to say??
The whole episode seemed to me to be a set up for Pam and Jim quitting |

Eerie silence in this thread since the show aired. Tonight's episode elicited a bunch of indifference from my viewing party.
