Or is that slang for obsessed fan? This.
It was an Archtard that started the whole thing and then tattled in the troll thread when people scoffed at it.

www.davidcooktheamericanidol.com , and to download the mp3's, www.davidcooktheamericanidol.com/streamingmusic/
I don't know if these links have already been posted somewhere on here--I found them on another forum that I can't even remember how I got to at this point, but it's the entire "Analog Heart" disc plus tunes from his other bands, Axium and Mid West Kings. It would be cool to have a hard copy, but this will do--they're already on my ipod and I really like 'em all. JP |

I love the songs too. Too bad the kid isn't going to see any money off of it. Here's hoping you make 10 million $$ DC!! I can't wait for tonight,
it's going to be a longgggggggggggggggggg day!

Yeah, I feel bad that he's not getting paid for this music we're getting. I've seen some articles that say it will be available again once Idol is over and others that say we'll never see it again. It's kind of scary that Idol has such power that somebody's music can be pretty much wiped off the face of the earth from one day to the next if the right people want it gone. |

never see the light of day, usually over label politics of some sort. His pre-idol songs are as good as ghost, unless it's remastered/repackaged and 19/RCA
take a cut. (Even still, for the money that they WON'T make off of it, it's hardly worth the time or effort.)

^ Stop talking about the boards on the boards. *goes on pissy mod banning spree*
Didn't Taylor continued selling his pre-Idol CDs after winning? Hopefully David will be able to do likewise. I'm really curious about the second CD he completed just before Idol. What a pity if it never gets to see the light of day. |

well, if he does go to selling them and getting the money, I'll buy. I love both CDs.

FWIW--There were some 13 yo girls hanging out with my son yesterday, so when they came inside I decided to ask them if they were watching AI. Not really, or
sometimes. Now these girls are the super athletes, and are pretty busy with sports and homework and downtime is pretty much spent hanging out with best friends
or their larger group of friends, including boys. They all spend HOURS just sitting around and talking between after school and when practices start in the
evening. By 13, the more mature kids have abandoned AI and I can't imagine them coming back for a long time--maybe in college if it's the thing to do
on Tuesday nights. I've already mentioned that there is no way my son would sit and watch AI anymore, and when he heard "Innocent" he liked the
music enough to download the OLP original, but wouldn't dl the DC version because of the AI stigma. The only way an AI winner is going to become popular
with the 13 and up kids is if they like the music post-idol, especially if the song ends up on a future Guitar Hero game :) So it's got to be edgier and/or
urban. Folk works on some level for them, too. And I am positive that the only two idol finalists who have a chance of being popular post idol are Cook and
Castro. Anyone post idol who is wildly popular with kids 12 and under is lost to the older teens. Anyone popular with parents is tolerated only if the parents
are into rock/alt/urban/metal. (Can't really speak about country--not big with the teens here in the NE, though the girls like Carrie and Taylor Swift.)
Granted, this group tends to be on the mature side for their grade, and my son says he does know some girls who still like Hannah Montana/Jonas Brothers. So,
if TPTB don't want the franchise to collapse, they really better hope they end up with a winner who can rise to stardom like Kelly and Carrie and Daughtry,
to an extent, who are still palatable to the teens girls I know. I don't think anyone but Cook can do that, though I do think Jason can produce some music
that the teens and young adults will go for. If the winner of AI7 can become a superstar, the teens and young adults may tune in a bit more next season, at
least in the beginning, to see if there is anyone interesting. I think AI lost this group with Taylor and the diva-heavy season 6. Plus they're developing
social lives. And let's face it, many of us have loved rock our whole lives and wouldn't be remotely invested in this season at this point if it
weren't for Cook. I'm not surprised at all that AI continues to lose viewers in their preferred demographic.

It's definitely true that older teens aren't really watching Idol. My sister is 16 and doesn't watch and none of her friends watch either. I watch
but I know very few people my age that do. It's not the cool thing to do. However it's also true that they will listen to the music post-Idol if they
like it and often times they don't even realize the person was on Idol unless you tell them. I've been in cars with my friends tons and a post-Idol
songs come on and they turn it up and they'll be like "I love this song" and I'll be like oh yeah this is so and so and they were on American
Idol and they're like, oh, I didn't even know that. Like I went to the movies last night and on the way back "No Air" came on and I was like
ugh, they play this song too much and my friend was like "I love this song" and I know she never watches AI.
That's why I don't think Archuleta will be able to sustain a career in the music industry. None of these people are going to hear anything he puts out on the radio and go "omg I love this song." |

^ I can see then how Archie will not be successful post-Idol. But why is it so uncool to watch AI?

I originally got banned over at TwatP by Shack but at least he could be somewhat entertaining some of the time. Jacob is just an absolutely useless, humorless,
long-winded cunt.
Older teens are probably like straight males when it comes to AI. They might actually watch it and even secretly enjoy it, but they'll pretend they do nothing of the sort in certain company. It's the "fucking a fat chick" of reality television. |

My daughter is 13 and she hates watching AI...not because it's uncool to watch but because she doesn't like any o the contestants who are left. She
wanted Danny in the competition and the minute he got the boot she boycotted
She likes David Cooks CD which I got off Amazon and she's liked some of his performances but I wouldn't say she's a fan per se. She hates demon seed though (she also hates Hannah Montana)... that's why I'm not giving her up for adoption |

That was my point exactly--if they aren't going to buy into David Cook until he is well away from AI, they are NEVER going to go for Porkchop.
Okay--will someone please give me a quick walkthrough on posting images? I am not even seeing the option right now, but I know I've seen it before. Nevermind. Let me get out of safari and into firefox. That's probably what's wrong.
