They might be able to go another season with Jane Seymour and Anne of Cleves. Katherine Howard might stretch it into another season, but he's old, fat
and has gangrene in his thigh by this time.
But if they make it to the last wife they've got problems in that Lady Jane doesn't exist and she's an integral part of the Edward/Tom Seymour/Parr story. By eliminating Mary Tudor (because the viewers are too stupid to keep straight Henry's daughter/sister with the same first name?) they've painted themselves into this corner. |

Excellent episode tonight.
When the Pope told the other priest about Michelangelo "we let him act that way because he's a genius, whatever that means" I cracked up. Thomas More's death was gut wrenching. |

well yes, but thank henry that they didn't carry out that original and more specific punishment to show us. "dragged through the streets on that... whatever... hanged by the neck until you are mostly dead. then your bowels will be removed and burned before you. after which, we will lop off your dick, chop off your head, and divide what's left of you into four pieces."i can see the judge dudes in deliberation and in stuffy british accents saying "yesss... but do you think that's really enough?" <3 tudors. |

Peter O'Toole is a gem.
And forget historical accuracy. I want more Henry Cavill sans clothing. |

You know what kinda sucks?
I started watchng the episodes On Demand because of John Adams on HBO, there was a conflict. Well John Adams is over. Tonight I decided to watch The Tudors at its normal time and I discovered I watched this week's episode last week, On Demand. So I am a week ahead. Which can only mean that I must have skipped an entire episode a few weeks back. Unable to figure out which one I skipped I went ahead and watched next week's episode On Demand. I'm a week ahead of you guys. SHIT! |

Since it hasn't been mentioned, the 1966 movie, "A Man for All Seasons," is about Sir Thomas More and covers the last 6 or 7 years of his life. The film won numerous Oscars, including best picture, best director, and best actor (Paul Scofield, who played More). |

I was just coming to post how great his performance was and how moved I was by his death scene.

One thing I do like about this series.
Most of the other portrayals of Cromwell depict him as ruthless and uncaring (See A Man for All Seasons) as do the history books. This Cromwell appears to have a heart. I'm thinking of when the cook was about to be cooked and the look he gave Boleyn. He also seemed to regret Thomas' execution. On the other hand, this series depicts Cranmer as being the ruthless, uncaring one and the history books always seem to give him a pass. |

I guess they must have shown episode 16 this week because Anne and Henry definitely didn't have sex and Katherine's illness was just teased at the end.
How does one see the next episode a week in advance?
