I guess you could theorize that Amanda was just pretending in all of these instances where she was super-pissed that her four clique was disrupted, but that goes against everything we've been shown.

But she is positioned better now and actually has a shot at winning, due to nothing that she did for herself except find the HII. Woo hoo. Brilliant.

Last season, Amanda waited until Final 7 to take out James who was a huge immunity threat as well and had not one but TWO hidden immunity idols, and that little plan worked out just fine for her. Besides Ozzy said that Amanda never told him about Parv's alliances, which suggest that at the very least Amanda was saying in the interviews Ozzy better watch his back, but wasn't really watching his back for him... In someways you could argue that she was taking the position Parvati took with a possible Amanda ouster. (Ozzy can go, but I can't have anything to do with it.)

So you admit you don't know whether that's what she was planning to do or not. Even if it was, you can't just assume it wouldn't have worked, even with the obvious risks involved. I wouldn't even necessarily assume that Ozzy would win against her. People's presumptions about what the jury will do aren't always accurate. If they were, we'd all be assuming Amanda will win, since that's the impression her opponents seem to have. Sticking with her alliance wouldn't necessarily have been any riskier than what ended up happening, since it left several people who wanted to vote her out due to being a jury threat, and she needed to use the immunity idol just to survive.

I say "If" because I don't think she was planning on voting him out at all, but you seem to be arguing that she was. Well it was a stupid plan, "if" that was her plan. I believe she was content to beam at Ozzy while he won and she got zero votes.

Any desire to keep Ozzy around longer wasn't due to some counterstrategetic schoolgirl crush. Most people aren't focused entirely on the endgame at the final 9, and Amanda's main priority was outlasting. It made sense to boot somebody like Jason, who was also a physical threat, and wasn't unconditionally loyal to her like Ozzy.

Maybe not, but everything that we've been shown suggests otherwise. Maybe Amanda is a secret strategizer, but all I see is doe-eyes and sadness that her four clique didn't last. I assume she also wanted Alexis out over Eliza, Erik and Natalie because she's so focused on the game, too? She's very good at playing the part of the wounded girlfriend if she's actually some shrewd gamer.

Yes, except that Parvati and Cirie were actually trying to get rid of Jason and Amanda was trying to save James. She searched every avenue, she's mournful, she hopes James lasts, etc.

There is nothing to suggest otherwise. Maybe editing has screwed Amanda over and made her look like a follower and an emotional pouty child who resists every game-related maneuver not involving her "clique" but on the show I'm watching, Amanda is being carried to the end kicking and screaming.

Did it occur to you that maybe Amanda wanted to keep James around because she knew the guy was loyal to her and would never vote her out unlike, Eric, Natalie, Alexis, and even it turns out Cirie. Plus, she had doubts about Parv and Cirie at this point. So if someone is going to go, it's in Amanda's best interest at that point that the person NOT be James.


As for her kicking and screaming, if Amanda truly didn't want to get to the end, she wouldn't have volunteered for that immunity idol. If you watch the clip, Amanda literally hid behind Natalie so that Alexis wouldn't pick her for reward, and then she volunteered to go to Exile. The girl wouldn't have done this if she was being "dragged kicking and screaming to the end.

As for the idea of her not being a schemer. We saw her scheme with Todd, we saw her scheme with the girls to get out Jason. Amanda is a strategic player. And quite frankly Amanda shouldn't be called not strategic just because she didn't vote for Ozzy. Amanda didn't have a choice in that particular vote. PARVATI AND CIRIE LIED TO HER, AND SAID THEY WERE VOTING OUT JASON. Who says that Amanda wouldn't have taken out Ozzy, she was never given that option. And probably at that poitn she would have rather taken out Jason anyways since Jason was doing better in the Immunity challenges than Ozzy, and Ozzy was absolutely loyal to her.
