He's wide-eyed and all that, but he's not a complete idiot. <crickets> Well, maybe he'll do something silly. He might. On another note, my sister-in-law, who lives in the next town over from Erik's family, says that when his brother went for the family visit they couldn't tell anyone why he was gone during the school year so they made up some story about a sick grandmother but once the cast for Survivor was announced, they all sussed out that he was probably in Micronesia. (And when is it hidden?could someone like Cirie accidentally find an idol, just by hanging around camp and noticing something that was different?) I wondered when it was hidden, also. I know the ground appeared to be all uniformly undisturbed, but it rains all the time, and the rain hitting the sand would disguise any recent digging at one particular location, I'd assume. I was wondering about this as well and thought maybe they hid the one at camp early on, maybe even before the game started. That way if it never got played, fine, but if it did the production crew wouldn't have to try and hide it while they were all in camp.

He swaps the necklace for the idol (after having so much luck swapping the octopus for the nachos)? Even though it expires this week, the idol is better than the necklace, right, because you can hold it to play (or bestow) later? Whereas the necklace wearer has to be set before anyone votes. Is there anything laying around camp that could be made into a plausible fake idol? (What happened to Kathy's from the first episode?) Is there any way, instead of a reward challenge, there could be some sort of idol scavenger hunt? Everyone gets a clue?

As for a fake idol, Amanda knows where Ozzy hid his idol that he left in the cave if it's still there... but that may pass of as a real one at TC, unless they're made in a different design.

Posts: 1570 (05/05/08 5:45 PM) MESS member More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	I dunno, but sometimes what a viewer is told by TV guide, or Probst, etc, can be used to get viewers to come and tune in....a hook, even if what is being said as "shocking" really isn't....but the thing Jeff says about not happening since Survivor started does sound interesting....maybe Natalie falls into the fire and is vaporized.....or maybe there is a five way tie vote. But seriously, I don't think it is about another fake idol.....but trading the necklace to another player and getting voted out does sound plausible.

Actually I think Probst looks like he's about to laugh. He seems to be LOVING this season...I bet the Producers are wishing they thought of this HI idol (with the have to play it before the votes are read twist) a lot sooner..It's GREAT tv.

That might be how they dupe Erik into believing he has a real Idol.

In one of the vidcaps, it looks like Natalie's bag is behind her when they are all in a line before the IC. I'll assume that Natalie is exiled and finds the HII. 2. Erik wins the IC as expected. 3. Natalie/Cirie tell Erik that they intend to vote for Amanda. 4. Amanda guilt trips Erik (eg. "I helped you make it to the merger...") into agreeing to give her the Immunity Necklace in exchange for a Final 3 agreement with her and Parvati. 5. Natalie pretends to not have found the HII. 6. At TC, Erik fulfills his promise and gives Amanda the Immunity necklace 7. Parvati/Amanda/Cirie/Erik all vote for Natalie 8. Natalie plays the HII and votes for Erik 9. All of the votes for Natalie are void and Erik is voted out without anyone (other than perhaps Natalie) openly betraying him. Of course, all of the women are clued in on this ruse. Maybe Amanda pulls out Ozzie's idol and they somehow convince Eric that it is a second idol that Amanda found, and she gives it to Eric in exchange for the immunity necklace if he wins. If they can pull it off, Eric would think he would be a winner either way because no matter what he has the idol. So he give Amanda the necklace before the voting, they all vote for Eric, Jeff says the idol is no good and Eric gets voted out. OK, we're all reaching for something here that could be a plausible scenario.
