The sitcom was lame. I liked how Joy was morfed into the pictures ala Zelig. Randy creeps me out with his overly brotherly love (like Jay for Dan on Biggest Loser)

Can I see you limp? Sure, as long as you just look. (Then Earl starts to unzip his fly)

So... they're switching things up and making Randy complete the list for Earl so that he wakes up? Okay.

I don't think they're so much having Randy complete the list so much as having him realize the importance of the list and steer Earl back to tending to
it, so at least we'll get back to the original premise.
That was an utterly depressing episode. For a sitcom, that's hard to do. Only one laugh: Joy vs. Catalina on feeding the car hay. It's sad when a great show loses its way. |

Okay, so Earl in prison didn't get the show back on track, so now we're hoping that Earl in a coma will breathe new life into a flatlining sitcom.

Earl in prison > Earl in coma
But both pale in comparison to 1st season 1 though |

Anybody still watching?
The last ep -- with the stolen motorcycle -- was actually pretty good. What a relief! I loved how it switched around from the Hickeys to past pre-Karma Earl drunken adventures and to present day Randy solving the mystery. Not a great ep, but definitely showing some signs of life. |

The ep was just okay. And honestly, I fucking hate the fake sitcom in Earl's head. It's the worst part of the show and I feel like killing myself when they cut to it. |

I always tape the show but rarely make it through to the end. There's something annoying about it. I think the narration gets old quick. The show is
getting as repetitive as Jeff Foxworthy's redneck jokes.

Why is this on page 4.
Well, yeah... it's losing its grip on me as well. |

Thanks for the posts. I stopped watching after the S2 finale and am not surprised I haven't missed a return to form.

I taped this week's show and haven't watched yet. Taped last week's and VCR's tracking was off, and honestly, I wasn't all that
disappointed I could only watch it in bits and pieces. And next week, when I have 4 shows on at the same time, I'm thinking about not taping (horrors!) and
just catch the show in reruns this summer. Or not.

Talk about a downward spiral.

I think this season has been a lot better than season 2 but yeah, it's really fallen a lot since the first season.
The main problem is how every episode needs to have some sappy message. You can't just have funny for the sake of funny (except for the rare random one-liner that's completely unrelated to the actual plot); everything has to be this huge moral lesson. Earl gives up on karma--bam, hit by a car! Randy starts crossing things off the list--Earl's condition suddenly improves! It's almost like it's a drama that just happens to have wacky, over-the-top situations. This last episode is a perfect example. The pot stuff/ruined vacation was pretty decent, but then it turns into "I felt so alive knowing that I could protect my family" and "I never gave up hope on you, son" (and in a non-ironic sense) and you're wondering what kind of soap opera you're watching. |

The recent ep with the bag of pot I thought was fairly strong -- I actually laughed. I'm hoping the magic of this ensemble is beginning to return. Maybe
the addition of Jeff Bridges raised their games, but the same thing was kinda/sorta apparent last week.
This series may not be dead after all. |

Well, tonight's episode certainly was the funniest all season. Sad thing though is that it also looked like the series finale seeing as how everything got
tied up in a neat little package at the end.

Ironic Billie has $100,000 now and that is what started this show. Hmmmm..... maybe it will survive. Last nights show was pretty good.

I finally have to admit that the show just isn't as funny as it was in the beginning. I still watch, but I barely laugh now.
my son has stopped watching at all. He used to be a bigger fan than I. Was that the season finale? if it comes back next year, I hope they'll return to the first season's lunacy. |

TV Guide says next week's episode is new. I haven't watched the last two or three episodes. Will have to catch the reruns.

So they're still going on? At least this way it makes for an interesting dynamic with Earl and Billie working together to repay karma. The writers really
took the long way around with this storyline, sending Early to jail for half the season and then putting him into a coma. I absolutely hated every single coma
episode. If the new direction doesn't help the show they might as well cancel it.
