The show could use another Purple Rock showdown. Seriously, can you imagine how retarded the castaways would have to be to vote for 2 people, who then receive
immunity, and one of the people who was essentially never in danger suddenly goes home by luck of the draw? What moronaments.

I remember purple rock back in Survivor: Marquesas which Paschal was out of the game during tribal council.

I remember from Thailand during the Ghandia boot, Jan talked about how the women have majority because the tribe picker would break the tie. We never saw if it
was true and if it wasn't, Jan could actually play the game before she went batshit insane. Can anyone confirm this?

It doesn't matter if the rule is the purple rock or not.
What matters it that Amanda believes Cirie's purple rock story as the reason Cirie voted for Amanda. Erik is left looking like a dick, because he was not smart enough to come up with a story to tell Amanda to make her feel better about him voting for her. Amanda think Cirie had not choice, but Erik is a dick for voting for her. Cirie outwited both Amanda and Erik. |

Was I the only one who got a weird vibe from the Cirie rock explanation? It semed contrived and forced, and she kept looking at the camera, like someone
prompted her to do a rules recap for the cameras.

Wait, where are you guys getting this "the people with the votes against them are immune from drawing rocks" bit from? I mean, that doesn't make
any sense at all. Why on earth would they even think of rewarding people for having votes against them? Doing it the way they did in Marquesas makes the most
sense where everybody who doesn't have the immunity necklace is immune makes the most sense by far. And I actually enjoy seeing ties, but I can only speak
for myself. People should have the balls to force ties more often, especially when it's beneficial to do so. I know I would...

It's there to discourage the deadlock from happening, that's all. Sort of like a consequence... "couldn't choose between these two? well,
then guess what, now you won't have to." It's not really talked about, but it's part of the rules for a deadlocked tie at 6, 8 or 10.

I know I would...For whatever reason, the producers of the show apparently hate tie votes. They came up with this particular system because it forces players to do whatever they possibly can to avoid tie votes, because anyone who forces a tie vote would be putting themselves at risk. The system works in the sense that it definitely dissuades players from having tie votes, but the reason why the show is so against tie votes in the first place is somewhat of a mystery to me. As a viewer, I think tie votes are great. They tend to give the people in the minority a better chance of overthrowing the majority, and that's exactly the sort of thing the viewers like to see. |

They should have different colored rocks for different consequences. Whoever gets the black rock dies, whoever gets the pink rock gets fucked by Jeff, whoever
gets the gold rock wins $50, whoever gets the white rock gets voted out, etc.

yuku for cocoa puffs wrote: Wow, I agree to one degree, however I like Cirie for making folks think it is still the way tie's are broken. Cirie knows better than anyone the purple
rock is not a given. If you think fire-making is now the deciding challenge you are also a fool. They can change the tie breaker at any season and it could
be anything. Cirie is correct in that respect. You can't know what the tie breaker is so it could be completely arbitrary, like the purple rock.

You have a point. The tiebreaker could actually change every season. Why, the tiebreaker before F4 could be to have the two people with votes each sing Eye of
the Tiger with the Jury deciding who stays based solely off of their performance for all we know.
